Blissfull Sunset Opinion

I just purchased and downloaded the Blissfull Sunset dream and while I like it, I was hoping it would be hi-dev. It seems a tad out of focus... otherwise I liked it.

Wouldn't this be appropriate in the skin comments? It's gotten a flood of them already. If you're looking for opinions about a skin, looking in the skin comments is the most likely place to find them.

It's an animated wallpaper, why wouldn't I post it in the animated wallpaper section?

It is in High-Def (720P)

Frogboy, ok, maybe I need to check for newer drivers for my laptop but the grass seems a little out of focus or maybe it's just not very detailed. Either way it does look very cool and I'm looking forward to more, maybe in higher dev.

Because as Bebi said, skins have a comments area on them for just this purpose. No need for skin comments in main forums.

Ok, so to get this clear to comment on animated wallpapers I should comment on them in the skins area... so what is the animated wallpaper area for?

It's fine to discuss your feelings on a particular skin in the forums.  The best place to provide feedback is of course the comments on the skin, but it's OK to chat about it here.

Especially since it's a Stardock animated wallpaper.

The forum is more for general discussion, questions about or problems with DreamScene ,Stardock DeskScapes / Animated walls.

If you look at the comments you will see that Frogboy (Brad, CEO of Stardock) and at least 3 other Stardock reps, 2 of whom are developers had replied to some of the comments. From a quick scan I believe it was posted by one of them that it is high-def, which would have helped you.

I need to get the lay of the land, I agree, for a Stardock animated wallpaper this should be an ok place to discuss it. I don't see an animated wallpaper as a skin but that may be just me.

I guess I need to visit the forum rules section, I didn't know that these dreams were considered skins and I considered the Blissfull animated wallpaper to be exactly that, a wallpaper not a skin.

Thank you for pointing out that Frogboy mentioned it was high-dev, perhaps you'll kindly notice that I responded to it? The forum police are in full effect tonight.

Everyone take deep breath and relax.  Remember, text doesn't always communicate as well as voice.  I always assume that the other people in the forums are not assholes even when experience tells me otherwise.

It makes everyones life better.

Hey viking, reading back over thread I think there may be some misunderstanding, as Zoomba said this post is ok, but I think you are missing that each skin, wallpaper and animated wallpaper has it's own comment section on it in the galleries.

It should be okay to discuss ANY animated wallpaper topic here.

MORE posts are a good thing.

Yes it is...hence the section title...

Rule of thumb: If a behavior results in more discussion on the forums, then it is good as long as said discussion isn't a flame war.

how long is the sunset before it loops and resets? would be cool if they had a dynamic version so it does the whole day with sun rise and sunset along with the system clock.

or an even cooler idea: live weather desktop. have that same image but with rain, clouds, night, day...

And the only machine capable of running that smoothly would be scientific cluster with 1024 processors at least. Not a bad idea alright, but unreal one at the moment, I think.

I meant to add a smiley face after my last post, ops, agreed sometimes our tone isn't conveyed properly by the words we choose. I know I can be considered cranky even when I'm not, who would'a thunk it?
