Issue with Bottom Panel image again! Help please!

Ok, again I tried to actually create a image for the bottom panel rather than use the basic option of a simple colour or two and again the top 20-25 pixels of the image have been cut off and placed at the bottom of the image when I load up the logon screen. Any ideas?

Set the top panel to "false". Crop the bottom 100 px off the wall and use it as the bottom panel, and use the rest of the wall as the center panel. You might play with the settings for the bottom panel, I don't remember if "stretched" or "tiled" works best, but one of them is right. I don't use LS much anymore, but that should work.

The main thing is to get the cropping exact. The bottom panel is set to 100 px by default. You can change it if you want. But at default, if you use a 1024x768 wall, you want the image for the bottom panel to be 1024x100 and the center panel to be 1024x668.

Hope that helps.

boss: You've said several times that you don't use LS much. Do you mean you don't create any logons anymore? Or, do you mean, you simply use the default logon that comes with Windows? Or what else?

He make splash style logons...they do not use LS for the editing...they are done in notepad by opening the UIFile.

Thanks I.R. for explaining. Yes bachbeet, I should have said I don't use LS to "create" my logons much anymore.

I pretty much make the splash logons with the userpane and shutdown button in the center panel, or "splash". Logon Studio does not support transparency in it's files, you can't create a "glass" looking transparent or semi-transparent bitmap with the files used to create them. You need a separate uifile and theme.ini file coded to use 32 bit bitmaps which DO support transparency, but they can't be created with the Logon Studio editor, Logon Studio is only used to apply them.

But I've done my fair share in the past using the Logon Studio editor, so I know the code fairly well, and try to help when I can.

Hey Raven, to use a graphic image for bottom must be set to stretched to look right. For my logons I make image 1000x70 for a 70 pix bottom bar, I find this works well for 1024 and 1280 res.

Hey Boss, you should also have added that Photo Shop is needed for those 32 bit bitmaps.

Thanks for the explanations, guys. I really appreciate all your contributions, whether splash or non.

That's the most used program to create them but not the only one that can.
