SoaSE dual screen support?

Just wondering if there will be any dual screen support for SoaSE, I know in SupCom the dual screen option does give the player a bit of an advantage as they are able to keep an eye on the entire battlefield at all times...

For SoaSE... I would love to just have a 2nd screen with the galactic view up all the time...

This was brought up a while ago.

I think the answer was no.

the answer is a definate no.
bring your "my computer can rule the world its so damn powerful" antics somewhere else.

I will have to rely on my far superior mouse clicking skillz, and intellect to pwn you all then...

err SoaSE is hardly a high end game - if you've read the comment the devs have made about how the game is scalable then dual screen support should hardly be an issue - furthermore if its merely showing an interactive - tactical map it hardly requires much power at all to display.

But it's unfair. What if you had 5 screens watching 5 battles going on at the exact same time compared to a guy with 1 screen?

Given this is just one guy with two screens, that extra 2 seconds between switching to map mode and normal mode is an unfair disadvantage!

well then you can kick him, when his down...
think about it 5screens!!, must get some real pain in the neck after a few battle.

not what I was talking about.

I have a really shitty computer. I absolutely despise anyone with something shiny, such as an up to date video card, or a dual core processor.

if you come to me with some quad-core penta-screen shit I get really bitter.

EXACTLY!

Well if its not an option for this game, the worst that happens is I try and code something myself to constantly display the tactical map on my 2nd screen... I once had coding skillz, maybe they are dormant in me and just need a kick in the arse to get going again... Or maybe not...

Schematicsninja - don't be PC jealous, we all had less than par PC's at one time or another, as long as you can play a game is what really matters, it doesn't have to be on the highest settings and across 2-3 screens for you to enjoy it any more than on just 1 screen. *hug*

** on a side note I will NEVER mention what my pc is packing, as you might never talk to me again...

While it may be nifty to have the ability to use another monitor as a second camera, I don't think they'll be time or that it would be worthwhile to add that functionality. The majority of people don't have dual monitors, so I'm not sure that such a function would be worth the investment when there's other, cooler, more useful stuff that could be added.

Some of us work better on more than one monitor... I will agree it is more of a novaltiy of sorts , even in SupCom I don't look at it all that often...

This MIGHT be my setup at home, as not to offend anyone...

sorry its an old pic, from back in May of last year.... I'll post a new one with the Sins wallpapers on all 3 screens, it looks mighty fine!

Just jump off a bridge. Now.

And give me your screens.

Well to be honest, he can have all the screens going at once he can get, its not like he can concertrate on 3 battles at once anyway, even if he can see them all.

So how do you, well how can i say it, dont get tired with your right arm, when using your mouse so high from the keyboard?

Btw did you try subcom with 2 screens? since i did and i never used the second one.

my right arm is mighty! We'll leave it at that... Every desk I've ever owned I've had my mouse and keyboard set up that way.

Yeah I've used the dual monitor feature of SupCom, its a gimmick, and nothing more, I don't find my games any easier or better with the 2nd monitor. It is pretty to look at sometimes...

LOL

So what do you do with your 2 other screens when playing?
I used one of mine to monitor my heat on cpu/gpu and had the taskbar opened.

well i am a stock investor in my spare time, my real job i only go into work 3 day a week, so one usually always has up the scottrade ticker and stock monitoring windows... the other one usually has up email and web browser, the middle is for gaming.

eh, i only ever used my 2nd monitor for admin stuff during a game (usually for FPS games though), other than that i never found a good reason to use duel monitors.

I have dual monitors at work and they're useful. At home I only have one, though, and honestly I'd be just as happy with a 24" widescreen monitor since all I really want is the screen real-estate.

I use a 2-monitor setup for designing (me = future engineer) and autocad is a lot more userfriendly with 2 screens.

As for Supcom, It would have been a lot more usefull if you could actaully plot waypoints, patrols and properly target enemies on the second screen. Would have been nice if you could SEE the waypoints and patrols and ETA reading on the second screen.

Would have been nice if the first screen could somehow jump to where you click on the second screen (like minimap) AND it would have been nice if you could "stick" just your second screen to a unit.

would have been nice if you could show sensor/weapon range on the second monitor to, or maybe only on it...

Other then that, having a really big minimap is nice.

(PS, this is based on demo and beta knowledge, as the people whom i preordered from seem to think they need to have ALL orders in stock before shipping)

even when the other order is C&C3.................

and it would be NICE if there was a GAME where the cost of your COMPUTER didn't win you any BATTLES.

I'm not supporting any of this top .00000002% of the gaming population bullsnaps.

I'd just like the 2nd monitor to swing over to important events or something like that... Always nice to dream...

huh? the cost fo your computer doesn't win the battle.
It can loose you the battle if you're like hell though...
