Unfortunatly Still a bit buggy. Still cool though!

Well guys.... I can't wait until all the kinks are worked out. If I can help in any way please let me know. I thought I would mention what has been happening so far (with 4 diifferent backrounds including the default one windows released).

It seems that no matter which one I attempt to use.... within a matter of minutes I get an error message stating that my video card has stopped responding and recovered. After which, I am left with a blank desktop.

Could be something with my card but I am running a GeForce 8800GTX with 768 megs of memory and using the latest driver from Evga's site grabbed and installed just yesterday (the driver not the card).

Anyway..... not complaining just thought I would mention. If you need any other info. I would be more than happy to oblidge.

Which driver version do you have? 100.64 works ok for me (2x7600GT).

I sometimes get a message about DreamScene not running followed by a blank desktop. Usually selecting the background again fixes it.

Still early days...

It's All in the drivers. I had the same problem. Every game, screensaver, and anything else 3d would crash with that error. Even windows Aero. Everything was fine, then a the screen would flash, and then the error. Updated to the latest 100.64 and the problem is gone. You all should know, with the 8800GT* series cards, there isn't Direct X 10 support in SLI! If you download their new demo (nVidia's) disable SLI to get it to work right. It wouldn't open for me in SLI. I looked at the driver notes and it makes no mention of DX10 in SLI, only 9. Off topic, I know, but it may save you some problems later

Thanks for the replies guys!

Fuzzy Logic - yup I am running version 100.64 for drivers...... went to my manufacturer of the card.... (EVGA) I am sure they just link to NVidia ... but JUST in case I like to pull from the manufacturers site.... maybe there is a line or two of code they tweak for thier card.... (EBGA, BFG, etc.)
I just cannot be certain so it seems logical to me to pull that way.

Digital Death - I wonder if I should drop Diract X10 then install 9c? Maybe that would help. I kinda hate to do that .... I would think that 10 is fully backward compatible but ya never know. I am not utilizing SLI (yet) i have the capability on my mobo just dont have another 500 bucks to lay on another card (yet) so i dont have SLI going yet. Maybe i need to turn something off somewhere? some place I am not aware of? BIOS looks ok to me and the control panel for nvidia looks ok ... of course maybe i am not looking in the right area. .... so far, its only the dreamscapes that glitch. games seem to be fine... of course i hardly play them and I did just upgrade from the beta vista ultimate to the full version of ultimate 3 days ago.
