will ship wrecks be persistant?

will ships that have been destroyed leave behind ship wrecks that are persistant? It would be somthing cool to have in the game as an option or something

just imagine coming to a heavliy fought over zone and seeing the hundreds of wrecks all around

i think that would be pretty cool wat do u all think

I think it would be nice as well, especially if there is away through ship construction and structures that those wrecks can be salvaged into the resources from which they were built. This would not only help by way of cutting down on what would be rendered, but if there is a heavily contested region of space, it would be visibly evident and additionally battlefield obstacles.

AGH!!!
I've answered this more times than I can count.
yes wrecks are persistant, they become debris belts (if the battle is big enough) an can be mined for an extensive time afterwords.

Perhaps we should have a sticky listing all the random things we do know about the game...

Schem, perhaps you could compile a FAQ!

Whomever, preferably as a collaboration of many. We need as much info as possible in one place.

Because I keep forgeting stuff and Schem has reasons to mock me all the time!

Schematicsninja , do you know if ship wrecks will be persistent after battles are over?

Yeah we need a more up to date FAQ thread...

To my understanding, the wrecks hang around for a while. How long, exactly, that is I don't know. But they will eventually disappear because having too much debris to keep track of could start taking up too much computer resources and slow things down.
