DreamScene on 3 monitors

It don't like it....

Hey guys,

I understand that DreamScene is in preview right now. However, I had a bit of a problem.

On my work PC I have 3 LCD monitors running off 2 ATI Radeon X1300 graphics cards.

The scenes run fine with only 2 monitors enabled, however, when I enable the 3rd, I get the following error:

Windows DreamScene cannot run because the total desktop size exceeds the primary video adapter's maximum texture size.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The Windows Aero Desktop requires a certain amount of texture memory to be allocated from your graphics adapter for every display you're running. Even without DreamScene this is a requirement.

If you're able to run the three desktops without DreamScene enabled on all of them, it may be that you're already close to the limit on texture memory. Running DreamScene may be pushing it over the limit because it probably has to allocate a little more for the animation.

Are these configured as seperate monitors, what nvidia calls DualView, or as one big horizontal span? Depending on how you configure this, it may not be able to create one huge video image in the memory space of one adapter. On mine (dualview config) the video "repeats" on each monitor seperately.

So, does it run fine with two monitors enabled on the SAME card? Or does it fun fine with one monitor enabled on each of the two adapters? That might help.

im having the same problem but with a few differences.
i have vista ultimate and i can get dream to run on a single monitor. if i enable the second monitor it says the needed graphics memory is not available (or something along those lines). i have an x850 and a x1600 on pcie. the x850 has 256mb and the x1600 has 512mb. i have 2 20" dell monitors running 1680x1050. im gonna trying running hydravision and see what i can get (if its anything like nvidias dualview).

any help would be appreciated!
