Do Dream Files work with current Preview from Microsoft?

Can't get Dream Files to install from the Dream Gallery

I got the DreamScene Preview currently available for us Ultimate users. I downloaded the Dream files from dream.wincustomize.com. When I got to "Control Panel>Personalization>Desktop Background" and browse to the .Dream files, it won't accept them as valid content.
Although it does look like it accepts mpeg content.
Also, how do you run Deskscapes? It's not added to my Program Files list and I don't see anywhere within Stardock Central to launch it.
Thanks,
Dream King

Having similar issues....Dream files don't seem to be working. I downloaded Deskscapes and it won't let me install, says it's not a valid Win32 app.

Dream files ONLY work with Stardock DeskScapes.

And to follow up, DeskScapes integrates straight into the Windows Display properties dialogs.  Right click on your desktop, select Personalize, then click on Backgrounds.  From the drop-down, you should see an option for DeskScapes.  It will list any dream files you've installed.

I though Deskscapes software would be available from either control panel or Start Menu, since it's supposed to allow you to switch dream with some triggers or set sort of loop.

I see your integration from within the Display Properties/Background as normal but where are the options for it...

Everything is working fine now. Didn't really do anything different. The dreams look really good. An Ultimate desktop for an ultimate OS.

DashXone,
I put my dream files in the Windows\Web\Windows DreamScene\ folder. You can try that but it really shouldn't make a difference.

DashXone, have you installed DeskScapes.  That is needed to use the .dream files.  Once you have DeskScapes installed you can simply drag them into the configuration window.

DashXone,
One of the things I tried when mine wasn't working was clicking on the DreamSwitcher.exe file. It's located in the "Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DeskScapes\" folder.
Then go back and see if you can Personalize your Desktop Background with the new Dream files.

I wish this was available for Xp, as I have very little cash to buy a new computer, and upgrade to Vista Ultimate.

Where are the Options to have your dreams change based on time or weather as mentioned?

malicious dreamz,

The FREE video player called VLC has a "Wallpaper" feature that does something very similar to this under XP. It's also a fair bit better optimized that DreamScene is right now, as I can play uncompressed video at full res as backgrounds under VLC and XP. I expect DreamScene on Vista to catch up of course.

Dynamic content will be appearing in the very near future.  The guided tour of DeskScapes explains some of the features that DeskScapes is capable of.

Yeah I seen the guide, I just was under the impression from the main page that it was already incorporated into the application. Didn't know it was unfinished!

Well looking forward to the final product!

Thanks Stardock!

Mine doesnt work either. I installed deskscapes but when i click on the .dream file it doesn't preview anything, just pauses my current desktop video.

Any ideas? could it be my integrated video card?
