magic pink in the corners, and disappearing thumb pics...

Okay, I know this question has probably been answered somewhere, but I couldnt find it.

When I make a skin, and do the left and right windowframeuis2, everytime when i preview it in wb, the magic pink is always there in the large preview window, but not on my skin when its applied.  How does one stop this from happening, as I would love to have round edges instead of square ones.

my second question is, when i do make a new skin, the little thumb pic in wb always disappears for it.  Normally I just put up with this, wait till the end and make a new skin and transfer all the files over, and the pic is there. So anyone got an easier way for me, because thats really getting on my nerves and doubles my workload at the end.

Try deleting the .wb4 files & temporary files (with the ~ in the name) from the skin's folder, then reload the skin using WB Config. See if that gets rid of the magic pink.

Not sure exactly what you mean by the "little thumb pic" in wb, though.

thanks for that Daiwa,

when I say the thumb pic, i mean when you are in windowblinds, and you click on 'skins' you see the small preview pics of all the skins with their name underneath them, and the author. thats the pic i mean.

That "pic" comes from your WindowFrameTopUIS2 image...it has to be a bmp for it to show up in the preview. If it is a tga, it will not show up.

Hope this helps.

Make sure your Anti-aliasing is disabled on your image when working with a magic pinky background because the least amount of image overlay (haze) will show up against it...and what Jazzy said...

hi Nav,

what is anti-aliasing? ... I still have no thumbpic in my preview for my new skin, ive deleted any file that has the tildakey (~) and ive saved the tga windowsframetop2uis as bitmap, but to no avail,

I know that down the bottom in sk, you can check 2 boxes, 1 to make the magic pink go away and the other for transparency... and i normally do that....but this 'no show' thumb pic has me stumped, ill play around again today with what information ive been given and see how I go.

Not sure what exactly is going on with your preview. If the image used as the TitleBar is a .bmp, it should appear in the scrolling preview list. Occasionally I have to rebuild the skin list to get a new skin to appear. Does the skin name appear in the list, just no preview? The only time I've had that happen is when a .tga is used as the Titlebar image.

When using a bmp, make sure translucency is NOT checked...that will make your image invisible. Translucency is only used for tga files. (It is the 2nd checkbox)

thanks jaz.....and thanks daiwa, yes the skin name is there, but no pic, i think i know why its happened, . 9 times out of 10 i change the style of the windowframetop2uis a fair bit before im happy with the final product, and i guess replacing it with the new one changes it to tga in its files..and then i get the noshow thumb pic...thanks for everyones help, i know im a bit insane.......

Are you importing the file or just selecting it in the dropdown list? If you have a .bmp file for the image and select it in the dropdown list for the Titlebar, that should make it visible. If you're importing it, SKS assumes you want it converted to a .tga (so it appears).

Aren't all skinners insane?
