Skinnalicious.net
will be hosting a live Windowblinds tutorial starting February 18th at 6:30pm Central Time.  This will take place in their chat room and will be led by Starone, a master skinner and long time member of our community.   This will be a highly interactive tutorial in which participants will receive a .PSD file, and will learn how to use that file in Photoshop to begin creating the parts of a Windowblinds skin.

Participants will be able to ask live questions during the lessons, and will also have the option to save the lesson for review at a later time.  The sessions will also be posted on their forums as well.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in making skins for Windowblinds, especially for new skinners in the community.  For more information and to sign up for the tutorials visit the link below.

Can you use the Elements with a PSD file? I use PSP and I'm not quite ready to shell out $600 US for Photoshop CS.

Hi Craig, Starone has already done this at Skinnalicious. Unfortunately life's circumstances dictated it come to a temporary end. Hopefully it will go as smooth this time around as it had then, only this time to it's conclusion. The only real problem we had was not having very man students. Maybe it will be different this time!

Hi Mike, PhotoShop is required for this tutorial since there is too much difference in it and PSP. I am not sure about the Elements program, but since it is a PhotoShop program I guess there would be a possibility. I will check that out and get back to you.

Island Dog, thank you very much for posting this!

Photoshop Elements does read all PSDs fine AFAIK.

That's great. Is there a big difference in the functions between the two. That is where it could get confusing.

The first time we tried this (before lifes little problems interrupted, as Cindi mentioned) Starone sent us a complete WB psd file of one she had made. She showed us how to take the psd file in PSP and cut and resize the image before even opening
skin studio. It is a bit involved, however she is an excellent teacher and explains just about everything there is to know skin studio. If you have the time and patience I would urge anyone who is interested in learning how to skin a WB to join in.
Please sign up as soon as possible at Skinnalicious and I look forward to learning with you.

I guess I am wrong about PhotoShop. It was done in PSP. Sorry folks, my bad. I didn't participate last time and remembered wrong. Boy do I feel dumb.

Photoshop Elements and PSP both read. PSD's so I would just assume that if you are pretty familiar with those programs that you would be able to follow along.
