Last year, we had a thread in which people showed off some of the great ship designs they created with Galactic Civilizations II.

With the expansion pack adding so many new components and so much free form support, we'd love to see the cool things players create.

The cool thing in the expansion pack is now you can save your creations as templates and then assign the computer players to make use of those ships in various roles. Combined with the capability of creating your own custom opponents, now you can create your own sci-fi universe within GalCiv without modding.

My first ship of 2008.

You know we really should try to get more ship design going. Maybe like an informal "Ship of the Week" Contest Thread. For instance, designate a class or role for that week and see what folks come up with. While I'm partial to vessels produced w/o mods, I wouldn't want to hamper anyone's creativity.

Any takers?

Anyway, my latest, building a new scout to replace the generic Terran Alliance one. Comments & Crits welcome.

exceptional work, but... that's a tiny-hulled fighter!?! such small machines don't deserve such elaborate work ;p j/k of course, even fighters should look nice.

What version do you have?
DL-you either need a third party program or you can press print screen on the keyboard and past it to MSPaint.
DA and TA- these are easier, just press ctrl-printscreen and it takes a screenshot and puts it in you My Documents,My Games, Dark Avatar/Twilight of the Arnor, screenshots folder.

Can we get a bigger, better quality version of that? I like seeing how certain things are done to inspire my own design, and all I see in that one is a purply blackish blur.

OOOHHHH.....why are all the rooms on the outside?...well.. It was originally designed as mobile, space lane motel. You know..heading to the Hoth system, and little billy has to pee while his older sister is pulling his hair and the parents really just need to stop for a rest. BAM...econo-space-motels to the rescue! You don't find them, they find you!

I made a whole set of ships based on the ship design from Sword of the Stars. I spent a whole night creating them, its really fun to use them as custom Terrans.

i have a mission for Kenwebb, bingjack,Doronron 2, Axel Kane, and Pokerface.
make me some Stargate ships. I want the 302, 303, 304, Ha'tak, Al'kesh, ancient warship, puddle jumper, and Ori Battlecruiser. plase make them.
