Neocon = Traitor

I do not like the term neocon because of my Jewish heritage liberals use the term as a racial slur. I also find it funny and totally understand why it is used as an epithet by liberals. Neocon means traitor to liberals. Conservatives call them grownups. I love how liberals scream that neocons don’t know what they are talking about. Neocons are mean, heartless, cruel people that don’t care about people. Neocons want to kill everyone. I hear this all the time on my other blogs and I see a bit here on JU as well. Most conservatives don’t know, me included until I looked it up, that Catholics are also called neocon.
Neocons are traitors if you are a liberal. To be a neocon the person has to have been a full fledged liberal first, then the person sees the light and moves to the good side. (smile) I can understand the liberal seeing a neocon as a traitor of sorts. What I find funny is that liberals are supposed to be all inclusive and tolerant of others. Yet every time a person takes an opposing view they are vilified. In the case of a neocon this person was a liberal and believed everything the liberals loved and believed in and at some point they saw something that made them change their views of their life an changed position. The tolerant liberal then attacks the person with invectives that are totally uncalled for. Why is that?

P.S. I've been associated with Tokyo Rose, Lord Haw Haw, etc., very recently because I evidently don't "see the forest for the trees" in terms of the "threat" of Muslims in the West. I don't believe such accusations should be used lightly, because when they are they are JUST AS BAD as anything Tokyo Rose did.

Why? Because, again, they are intended to divide, to demoralize, to cut into our fellow Americans during a time of war. There are two ends to every evil. One is, admittedly, people who want to pose us as the bad guy all the time and try to undermine the morale of Americans. The other end, though, are fascists who believe that they can get out the torches and crush all dissent by labeling anyone who disagrees with them a traitor.

In a time of war you can afford NEITHER. Defeatism in the name of political opportunism is bad, but hateful jingoism in the name of political opportunism is just as bad. War shouldn't be used to promote their shallow moral or political ideals on either side.

Taking tongue out of cheek. Rose was a name given to the voice by service men. It was how they chose to explain who they hated. My Stepfather used to say in frustration "Hot damn old Rose." It was a saying like "go ahead, make my day" It was not a literal person just a name used to vent frustration.

To be fair, I never heard the term "neo-con" before it was used as a slur. Neoconservative, sure, but the word "Neo-Con", at least in my experience, was exclusively a Lefty insult before we robbed its venom by shrugging it off.

It's been around for a while (at least since the mid-90s, because I've seen it in print from that time), but it's always been a mostly spoken term in academia. It is only really the Marxists and the far left who use the contraction in print. It's still based though on the extended form which was coined by earlier theorists.

The highest court in the land - the opinion of your beloved elected fixed-term dictator, the president - pardoned her. Isn't that enough to prove innocence? What are the requirements of your court of public opinion? Should she have committed suicide rather than collaborate? Accept a post as a comfort woman in the foreign service rather than speak on radio in a not-particularly-treacherous way?

I do not know if she is guilty. I never said she was guilty. But there is eveidence on both sides. Sean said she was guilty. I did not mention her until after he did. Perhaps you need to brush up on American Jursiprudence.

I do not know if she is guilty

I know for a fact that she is guilty. To receive a pardon the person must admit guilt and never contest the conviction. So even if she was innocent, by accepting the pardon she admitted guilt. Case closed. The topic is Neocons lets stay on topic.

Sorry cacto but a "pardon" and being proved innocent are 2 "entirely" differnt things. A pardon means you did it, but we forgive you for doing it. Innocence is you "never" did it in the first place.

I noticed that liberals use the term neocon as an insult but look at neocons and tell me if you think being one is an insult. Ronald Reagan at the top of the list, a staunch liberal who saw the light and came over from the dark side. Look at what he was able to accomplish while at the same time attacked by the liberals that once supported him. Senator Lieberman who was the Democrats Vice-Presidential candidate the second best Democrat they have and supposedly the two best representatives of the party but when he disagreed with just one part of the party he was thrown under the bus and they put someone against him because he was not liberal enough. Nothing like loyalty for someone who spent his life towing the party line. Winning re-election as an independent only weakened their cause because any conservative thinking in their camp is seen as evil. This is how we as conservatives gain population. They keep kicking their good people out because they actually think for themselves and that is a bad thing. Neocon is a good term, new conservatives. Has anyone seen or heard of neolibs?
