i have been w8ing for ever

Less than 24 hours actually.
Most people don't reply if they don't have the answer, or at least an idea. I personally have never heard of this particular problem with CursorXP. Sorry we all sux.
So, what was causing the problem?

20 hrs Randy.  instant coffee, instant oatmeal, instant ...  I would suspect it was his pc because he said it woked on 1 and not the other.

He should thank us for not "replay" to his issue.

Oi bob
do ya hear that,it's the worlds smallest violin and it's play'n just for you

I've had the same thing happen on occasion sometimes it's intermittent,i'd guess a restart would fix it since when i'm finished piss'n about on the net i turn the comp off and on restart all is fine, besides pushing "ctrl" will show where the hidden cursor is

For crying out loud, Bob, how DID you fix it? I had to reformat my hard drive and just now got everything up and running after installing ALL updates to MS XP SP2 and installing IE7, graphics card update, etc. I downloaded CXP+ and registered it. Now, in this incarnation of IE, my cursor blinks anytime I move it over IE or in the web browser in Stardock Central. The issue is not the graphics card, nor IE7. Things worked hunky dorey before the reformat, but not now. So help out a fellow user.

Try this, open Cursor Xp select options, then preferences & uncheck hide cursor after idle time.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I did as you suggested and it wasn't checked, however, it still blinks. Between the time I posted and now, I have uninstalled Cursor XP and reinstalled. I've updated Flash player. I've applied the cursor theme through Theme Manager. I've disabled every option in Intellimouse. I'm running the most current mouse driver. I've changed the cursor blink rate in Keyboard options. Uh, let's see, what else...I've disabled Cursor XP and started IE7. Lo and behold, no blinking cursor. I enabled Cursor XP and it started blinking again. Event Manager logs a faulting application in curxpcpl.exe version 1.0.0.1. Restarted CXP. Works just fine in anything but IE7. And believe it or not, it wasn't doing the blinky thing yesterday. Your help is appreciated.

I use FireFox with the IE tab extension, if I must use IE then I use either the IE tab extension or I use Flashpeak Slimbrowser with IE6. Flashpeak uses IE as a base but adds more security features as well as tabs. Ironically with FireFox there have been 2 updates regarding issues with custom cursors, 1 a security issue, both now resolved with 2.0.0.2 The reason I mention this is that I see you have done all of your MS updates and wonder if there is a hidden issue there. As with updates it can take some time for the issue to show.

The only time I had issues with Cursor XP Plus is with Firefox for 2 version, albeit small ones.

I would suggest checking out the Microsoft website for info regarding custom cursors.

Or use FireFox & IE tab extension and or FlashPeak Slimbrowser...not sure how it works with IE7

ps another suggestin is to e-mail bob2501, he may not mind helping you privately. click on his name and select e-mail

Phil7445 I just found another post here where someone has the same problem,
WWW Link

Unfortunately this doesn't solve anything So maybe checking Microsoft about IE7 will give you some answers.

Definitely post back here any info you get, thanks

Just a note: this "fix" (https://forums.stardock.com/?forumid=177&aid=117292#1140166 ) does not work if you are experiencing the problem of your cursor blinking/disappearing whenever you use IE7. CursorXP Plus works great in any program except IE7. I've installed CXP on a clean system after updating EVERYTHING; graphics, XP SP2, HP updates, the works. I've checked the Microsoft site on custom cursors and drew a blank. I've changed cursor blink rate, hover time and sensitivity in Tweak UI, tried uninstall/reinstall, even changed the batteries in the wireless Intellimouse. Does anyone in here have any ideas on how to fix a blinking cursor? I find it annoying to have to use the Ctrl/Shift/C when I open IE7.

Is there a "smiley face" for pulling out my hair?

And by the way, My Secret, I emailed Bob2501 and he has yet to respond. I certainly want to thank you for aiding me in my "cause". I sincerely think that if I continue to post here, someone with StarDock might take notice. I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem. It would be my luck with Symantec products that it turns out to be a conflict in programming with anything that has a Norton name on it rather than Internet Explorer 7.0. LOL

I truely believe I have FIXED the problem.    On my particular machine! I hope this can help others.

I use the wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 with driver update 6.0 from Microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/DownloadResult.aspx?prod=m_wie20&os=XP_32&lang=en&driverVersion=IntelliPoint%206.1%2032-bit%20for%20Windows%20XP

In the Mouse Properties window, select "Pointer Options" tab. This has nothing to do with Cursor XP. Increase pointer speed under "Motion" to about three clicks under Fast. Check "Enhance pointer precision"

Under "Snap To" check the box to automatically move pointer...

Under "Visibility" chaeck all three choices including pointer trails, but slide the option all the way to "short"

Apply and Exit

Any option can be used under Cursor XP, now.

I have navigated numerous web pages to check to see if the cursor disappears and it doesn't. No blinking, no nothin' but cursor! The default settings for the mouse just isn't enough when using IE7, I guess. And I didn't lose any hair!
