Does anyone have a copy of Eminence?

the second to last update, not the current one with the Winflag

I really love rjsmith2007's Eminence windowblind. He had made it just about perfect - and then he updated it . It's still a great skin, but I preferred the next to last version. I seem to have lost mine. Does anyone have a copy they can give me to spare me bugging the author? Click the thumbnail for a screenshot of the one I'm talking about. Thanks!

your best bet would be just to email the author thru WC...

Yea, I will probably try that in a bit. Just figured it might be faster to see if anyone else decided not to upgrade like me.
Hopefully he's one of those skinners who keeps the various builds instead of just overwriting it each time.

I have a version I downloaded 10-22-06. I'm not sure if that's the one you want, but the thumb I have for it is the same photo. If you tell how to do it, I'd be glad to email it.

That very well might be it! As long as it matches the screenshot it should be. The site's email function is being weird, so here goes nothing.

In Windows explorer, go to your c:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds folder and put the Eminence folder into a .zip or .rar file. Attach the zip to an email, send it to [email protected]
Thanks.

The proper way to request "any" past version of a WindowBlind would be to contact the author and not from WC subscribers.

I didn't contact the author first for three reasons. Primarily because, it seems to me the more established authors get sick of people bugging them and either delay in replying or ignore specific requests. Not saying so of this author, but can't say I blame them. Secondly, the fact he changed the skin here, on dA, and other sites might mean he's just overwritten it, and doesn't have all previous builds. Thirdly, the site's "Email User" function doesn't work for me in either firefox or IE.

Besides, what's the point in there being this "community" if I can't just pop on, see if anyone had decided not to upgrade like myself, and get the skin within a few hours? Anyways, Hallowed Wizop, I'll be sure to do it the proper way next time*, and spare you from having to come into these threads to educate ill-mannered users. I'm sure you have much more important things to do.

*if the site allows me to

No-one should be distributing skins without the author's consent, that is why it was suggested you contact the author.

This is a community, and it is a sharing community - but not at the expense of a skin author's rights for it is they, and only they, who can decide how and when their work will be distributed.

Yeesh. Who would have ever thought this way would be more problematic? If the email function starts working I'll email the author. If not, I'll just do without.

Mods: please lock or remove the thread.

Lest someone who is not one of my old IP law professors tries to lecture me about Copyrights. Once is enough, thanks.

For the record, Ryan (Zero) is very good about responding to emails... he's also working on an update to the skin, so its likely he has archived versions.  I'd guess it would be a day or 2 response.  He's also on dialup...
