FIrefox and Wincustomize star ratings

Has anybody noticed if you're using Firefox that the star voting/rating system isn't functional? It seems to work with IE, but not with Firefox.

How do you know that it is not functioning?

I don't see any problems with the rating system.  Are you using the test site or the current site?

Please be more specific as to why you think the system isn't working.

Well, it doesn't have the mouseover option where you can vote on a skin. I can get it with IE, but with FF, I just get the stars, no option to vote.

What skin are you trying to rate? URL?
What version of FF?

I've been using Firefox for years up to the newest 2.0.0.1 and never had any problems with Firefox.
Many times it is a combination of extensions that you are using. The simplest is to disable all extensions, restart, then test, then enable ext. 1 by 1. Remember to restart Firefox each time and test.
Also looking into the options available for each extension may suggest an easy fix.
I just formated my harddrive yesterday and using it of the box Firefox works perfectly including voting.
I installed 18 extensions & themes today and it still works perfectly. Still a couple more to check out though
Just found a real cool one All Customized Links... You add frequently used urls to a right click menu, eliminating the extra clicks to access your bookmarks folder, or an overfilled link bar, or icons. Even better if you like Windows Fx effects then checkout Tab Effect.. actually turns the web page as it loads or when you switch tabs.

Hope that helps

Newest version of FF. No particular skin I'm trying to rate. None of them will highlight. It's just odd because it works just fine with IE. This is something that's just happened in the past few days. I've been using the same version of FF now for months and not had a problem before.

test.wincustomize or www.wincustomize?

I can't vote in the polls using FF (2.0.0.1) at wincustomize, but can at the test site.

Might explain much of the comments lately about votes of subscribers not being counted if this indeed the case with the new FF.

Using FF 2.0.0.1

What I'm noticing is sometimes when I click on a star to rate it a tab opens and starts loading - the url has an addy that says something about ratings etc. I'll close the tab and try to rate it again and it happens again. This is sporadic and has no pattern to it at all. 99% of the time when I click a star to rate , there is no response.

Eli0t, the fact is that you may need a more modern browser to use the site.  You can try clearing your cache though.  It's been known to help.

if it can work in ie6 it can work in mozilla its just a matter of coding

And my winning a million dollors is just a matter of buying enough lottery tickets.

It's good feedback . . but it's a browser that's not used a lot and resources are likely not going to be used to focus on a small minority of the user base until everything else is done.

I'd just hate for you to miss out on functionality because of your browser choice. ya know?

Eli0t, thanks for letting us know that you're having difficulties.

Unfortunately www.wincustomize.com was designed and made to be compatible with the two major browsers out there; Internet Explorer and Firefox. For more information or explanation, you can reference this post - https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=188&aid=141550. However, there is no plan to integrate support for the specific version of Mozilla that you are using. I would reccomend getting a version of Mozilla that uses the same rendering engine version as the latest version of Firefox.

I decided to try this on Portable Firefox 2, and when I try and rate a skin I get a page not found 404 error.

I find the site "hangs" quite a bit using Firefox. When opening new pages (forums, skins...) most times it is OK, but often the loading bar graphic pops up, sometimes shows progress/sometimes not, and then hangs for seconds, even a minute or so. I clear all personal data (cache, etc.) regularly, but does not seem to be consistent results. When I use the site in IE it seems faster over all, and more consistent between different pages/parts of the overall site.

Is this a settings issue with my FF, or just general? It seems to me I saw, in another post which I can't locate any more, that some settings for cookies allowance or similar were posted for FF. Is this the main cause of problems with using FF, not the site itself?
