Metaverse Server Down?

Trying to submit a game and trying to start a new Metaverse game. I get a Metaverse server error.

The Metaverse server returned an unrecgonized response. Please try connecting later.

FC, it sounds like you got it straightened out.
Was it an easy fix?
It would be cool if you could share w/ the rest of the class.

No Not fixed. It was passsed to Pat. Probably not going to get done until tomorrow am after 0900 GMT -7 (this is a guess though). The problem is well known now.

I just went to check update serial everything was fine on GCII. When i went to check on Dark Avatar it was the same # i got on the pre order.When I went to close it it said invaild serial # it should be 35. There is only 28 in the serial#.

AFAIK this is a different issue. The metaverse server is for submitting metaverse games. You seem to be talking about getting the DA Beta activated.

Same here, been trying all morning. Isn't this always the case though? The one day I am home sick, with nothing to do...thank god there is TIVO.

vu. Still down. I chatted with Cari-Elf for a few minutes but got no joy. If you guys could check on it tomorrow (I will be on the ship w/ out access to IRC)and drop a line to the powers that be I would appreciate it.

No problem. I can check from my office throughout the day. I don't have GC2 installed on the computer I'm at right now. I've never finish my paperwork if I did. I'm just glad I had started 2 games before the server had a coronary.

Do you have to be logged into metaverse at all times to play, or jsut to start and finish/post a game?

Just to start and finish a game - you could use Cntrl-N to create and store up a few to play if you are going away off line anywhere, if you needed to. You just upload the endgame on return. Dont need to log in once you have started a game via the metaverse server

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but is there an Official word on when this issue will be fixed? I have been trying to get on for two days now. I would assume that someone has already contacted the folks at stardock, just wondering what their reply was.
