Newb Question: Metaverse & Internet Access

Not sure if this has been answered before, but sorry if it has...

Do you need to have a constant connection to the internet to play a metaverse game? I am stuck with dialup at my house since I live in the sticks, and would like to start a game, and then disconnect, and reconnect to upload scores or start another game.

Just wondering, thanks in advance

That will work fine--you only need to be connected to start a game and to submit your score.
