Arrakis Imperium

Whoever Controls the Spice, Controls the Universe

The Senators of the Arrakis Imperium have spoken. The Imperium has been switched from a moderated empire to an open empire with regards to membership. All are welcome to join. Senator status is available to all Dune inspired characters. We are an active bunch, having gone from unranked to #11 in less than 3 months. We also changed our name a bit so I suppose that a new post has been in order for some time now.

We are a fun loving group prone to rattling off in "Dune speak"from time to time but we also enjoy a good strategy discussion too. So anyone looking for an active empire to join, come check us out.

The Bene Tleilax have unleashed the twisted ghola, Piter De Vries and submit 36K towards the Paradox campaign. We have already begun a suicidal campaign with the the emperor's favorite ghola, Duncan Idaho and should have another submission tomorrow. The enemies of the Imperium shall fall.

Skirmishes against the Paradox have been successful, we have pushed them back to their bases at near Arakeen. All of he Tleilax, and Sardaukar commanders have yet to report, so there may yet be further destruction.

Already, the Sietch Council is planning initial assaults on the Lords of Chaos. Their knives will chip and shatter, leaving us to render their water for our tribe.

Excellent,

Citizens of the Imperium, welcome to the Galactic Map. The campaign against the Paradox has ended with them unseated from the #10 ranking. Special thanks to Gurney Halleck who joined the empire during the campiagn and Selim Wormrider for submitting the victories that unseated the Paradox.

Now the charge towards the Lords of Chaos is under way.

The spice must flow.

The Fremen have done well.

We plan on returning to the battlefields within a week. As I predicted, the Paradox are behind us and soon the Lords of Chaos will join them.

I've got 2 suicidal campaigns going on right now. My first time playing at this level. Fuel Chief is my hero right now because the Yor are in RYNO mode against me in one game and it's all I can do to fend off all the empires that have declared war against me.
Quit with the thumpers. The Yor are drawn to them.

Yor and thumpers

Greetings Padishah Emperor, Noble Fremen, Loyal Saduakar and Powindah,

The Bene Tleilax apologize for not reporting in sooner but adjusted were being made among some of the new axtol tanks. Some were less than cooperative...

The Hidar campaign against the Lords of Chaos is at an end. We have secured the quadrant and submitted a victory of 55,000 to the Imperium. As of the next metaverse update we are now the #9 empire.

Death to those who oppose us!

-Charcter hat off-
I find that the game doesn't appear to be all that "smarter" on the suicide level, just more resources and more aggressive.

I managed to finish the game in 6 years, could have done 5 but was just enjoying the paced of things. I also want to share that I never built a single ship large than a medium hull and still kicked but.

Happy New Everybody & Happy Gaming !!!

Outstanding Hidar

I've submitted a few points myself and have a another game well under way. We seem to be well on our way to #8. Let's keep up the great work. We made good on our pledge to be #9 before the end of 2006. I think we can take the Colonial Fleet out before DA is released. Let's give em' hell !!!

Suicidal level game update and hints for Imperium Overlords-

The AI has been so focused on being aggressive and sent so many loaded transports that when the time came for the counter offensive, the AI planets fell quickly because they were vastly outnumbered. Remember to keep morale as high as possible, planets with 100% morale get a doubling of population growth. More citizens not only mean more troops but more taxes.

Trade trick #1 - get the galactic privateer early if possbile and establish a web of trade routes across the map. AI fleets tend to focus on your freighters when at war. If you have the galactic privateer, enemies will obsess on trying to destroy freighter which are completely protected. nothing quite as satisfying as watching a fleet you know you can't defeat waste time attempting to defeat freighters that are invulnerable, giving you time to build a proper defense. However, be warned, if the freighter are headed towards your worlds, the enemy fleets will foollow them right to your planets.

Trade trick #2 - Everybody loves advanced troops tech. The enemies will trade their shirts for this one. Pimp the minor races first, then juice the major players. This is a good trade because the AI civs are complete morons at all levels when it comes to landing troops worth a darn. If you are managing your fleet well, enemy troops should rarely reach your soil anyway (beware the Yor armed transports though). If you've kept morale high then enemy troops should find far more defenders than they can handle. don't force your citizens to defend too often and they replenish at a good rate.

Don't forget your espionage efforts, knowledge is power. Knowing who has what helps to coutner that fleet. Also advanced espionage opens the opportunity to steal tech. At the higher difficulty levels, it takes years to generate a competitive amount of tech points against the AI civs. Nothing puts you back in the game like stealing a weapon several steps ahead of you current weapon research.

Dirty Trick #1 - AI civ's will respond agressively if you position troop transport near there planets, especially at higher levels but nobod yseems to mind a colony ship. 2 colony ships with about 2000 colonists ned only 4 upgrade to transport of whatever design. Keep a range of transport designs to upgrade into. Nothing is a sweet as watching a bunch of pilgrims morph into marauders on an unsuspecting enemy. This can get wicked if the colony ship hull was a large or huge one to begin with, expensive but wicked.

Game on Imperium Overlords !!!

Hey,
I got an email from your Empire. I accepted, but one question. Which one of my characters did you recruit, if its Sandwitch Maker, then im sorry but i will have to leave. If its Viceroy Ivan then ill stay untill The Fleet gets back together and organized.

I was inviting Viceroy Ivan and please feel welcome for as long as you want to stay. Which Fleet are you referring to?

Greetings again AI overlords and senators. I would like to extend warm greetings and welcome to both Jaye and Viceroy Ivan. I just returned from a short vacation and am looking forward to resuming the campaign against the Ccolonial Fleet. Please anyone joins post here to lets us know you are on board. I like to do greetings announcements and I look at the roster daily but I would hate to miss anyone.

I was of course refering to The Colonial Fleet. Although i do not wish to make them go farther down in rank, i do hope to rid the Metaverse of the scourge of the Orcas, and the foul corrupt touch of the Dimplomats.

Long live the Imperium!!

Again i will stay just as long as it takes them to reorganize. After the Admiral left the forums there just went nill, and barely anyone posted scores. This gave way to the Orcas and Diplo to take over. I mean they got rid of the Overmind(one of our long term goals). Though i play for fun, the scores those 3 have are just ridiculous.

Hi, the Sardaukar are a member of the Imperium for some month now. But today another character (Stilgar) of my account joined the crusade with all his accumulated points.

I don't have much time to play at the moment but soon I will fight on your side again for place #8... or even #7 then...

Then we face the super empires, and we will break their hold on this galaxy.

and we will break their hold on this galaxy.

Not likely...

Glad to see the Imperium prospering.

Yea... but there will always be hope...

How dare FC    I find that I must declare Kanely upon him for disqualifying behavior towards our beloved Imperium. I have started a gigantic campaign with abundant planents and stars. I'm getting my feet wet before I do the suicide mega-campaign. Fellow AI senators and overlords it would seem that we must tear through several other empires to reach the insolent Dipo's. We can't let the High Command have all the fun charging to the top by themselves.

If we could post in more than one empire like in GCI I would drop a score in for you. I am glad to see that there is some life still left in this Meta. GCI went quickly.

Best of luck on your current games.

Thanks FC. I've got the Altarians hostile towards me for god knows what but I think I've got the right combination of tech to give them hell. The Korx just surrendered to me and this pushed my population and research up to competitive levels with the other empires. We'll see how this goes.

Greetings from the Bene Tleilax,

It would seem that the ranks of noble Fremen warriors is growing. the Imperium continues to prosper and I see a few new overlords as well, welcome to the AI. We're going to covert FC, I can feel his longing for melange.

Has anyone heard from Selim Wromrider recently? Not like him not to posted for 2 weeks. Stilgar, good to have you on the team. I was beginning to worry about the Sadaukar. Please senators feel free to invite others to our cause. I am very please with how things are coming together. I believe that the Metaverse is going to get some life breathed into it with the release of DA. Let's see if we can roll out the welcome mat for some new overlords.
