The Best Desktop Themes of 2006

Well 2006 is coming to a close, and we have seen some great skins and themes come about this year.  We also had the 2006 GUI Championships which brought some amazing submissions, especially in the Icon Package categories. 

I was browsing through my theme folders and saw some skins I had used earlier in the year.  What a better time to mention some of my favorite skins from the past year than now.

  • Eminence by .zer0. was a Windowblinds skin that I used several times, and often recommend to people looking for a well designed skin.

   

 

  • 5imple by danilloOc is another skin I still use to this day.  For me it was a perfect blend of transparency and color, and it was very usable in day to day work.

 

 

 

  • Apogee Icon Premium Suite by Paul Boyer (mormegil) is a beautiful icon suite with 15 color variations, and hundreds of icons.

2006 was an outstanding year for Windowblinds.
I have 138 and around 100 are from the last year.
It's very hard to pick the best but......
I have 3 that I always seem to go back to.

1. Mirage by Night train
2. Eminence by RJ Smith
3. Thallos by KOL

also i believe Aerial was released in 2006

and lets not forget Pico Tea/Pico Grey

however the skin im using was released before 2006 (Royale Vista )

I agree, Ecliz and Aerial were another two of my favorites.
