Logon doesn't work on switch user

Hello, I am using XP SP3. My logon works when I log out, but not for switch user. I just get an old-school, classic windows message box, with a drop-down menu for choosing which user to login as. Why is there an option to automatically switch user upon logon application if it doesn't show the result? I have a feeling something is wrong here.

I can't seem to do that, same thing is happening to me

when I try to enable fast user switching, and press apply, it just goes blank again..........

I think you need to enable both
