Changing IP

Is there anyway to change your IP adress using desktop x?  Can you change it from automatic to a custom ip and vic versa?  Any help would be appreatated.

This has been something I've been trying to figure out for a while now - either trying to use WMI or Registry Settings (although, this still needs checking thoroughly) as I move between 2 places where in one place my wireless is required to use DHCP (aquire an IP from the router) and another place where I use a static IP - would be nice to have a script that at the click of a button would either switch between the two or allow you to configure it straight frmo the desktop - if anyone has any ideas/suggestions would be a help! - Thanks in advance
