Music themes

I am a little disappointed in the music in DA. Not that it is bad, it can just get a little repetitive. So I was thinking of a way to "spice" it up a bit. When I was wondering about it, I saw Peter Griffin on TV dancing around with his own theme music. So I thought,is there a way you can make a race have a theme song?

I believe the Devs said the music isn't all in yet, or most of it isn't.

Right, the only new music in the current public build is the title theme. Everything else is the same as it was in GC2.

Was this idea already thought of in DA?

Speaking of the Music in Galc Civ 2, I always thought it was a tad too repetitive and un-inspiring. Like there's no grand musical orchestra playing some crazy Carmina Burana piece while you are about to wipe out a race's final planets. Or just general delicious female vocals over some melodic pieces running in the background during times of peace, but something that actually inspires the player and motivates them to go out and conquer the galaxy, but still fits in with the grand space opera feel.

I have been running my Winamp behind the game for the last couple weeks, worked pretty good till I started getting a GCII crash that winamp may have something to do with. So for now I can't play Iron Maiden's The Trooper(or similarly inspiring song) when I'm invading, but oh well  .

Brilliant video and piece of music.

Iron Maiden's The Trooper

Classic!

I do the same thing with the same type of songs DethAdder, but I have yet to have the game crash because of it. Might be something else.

I'm hoping it is something else, I miss my mp3s. Unless I get a similar crash without it though, I have to assume that was the problem. Crashed same exact way twice, seamingly when a laser sound effect went off during two AI ships battling.

Never watched the AI ships battle. When I get the chance I will see if I can duplicate the problem you are having.

The first crash I sent the SE report and all in, so SD may email me back and tell me the definate cause, or a possible cause. I was always zoomed out in tact view, hit turn button and the autofocus would take it to an AI battle. I'd hear the first shot, then it goes black and SE & XP popup their little windows. Hasn't happened since I quit the winamp though, but I haven't put in enough time to realy tell yet.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have the ability to add music to a folder and then make it an option to, instead of having the standard music, just cycle through all the songs in the folder? Then you wouldn't need to run WinAmp or iTunes or whatever you like in the background. That's what I want, the ability to add music.

I know what your'e talking about. No offense, but the music in Galciv/DA is boring. Even though it doesn't have the new music, it would be so cool to make your own personalized playlists.

I like that song! Does anyone know who wrote this song? I can't find it on google.

When I saw the music folder and the mp3's, I hoped I could simply add to them and it'd play them in rotation, ala Oblivion's method . . . .I hope they add this feature in the near future.

I like the stock music, I just agree, it gets repetitive. I guess I can just use the win media to play stuff in the background.

One of my favorites I'll play is the main theme from I,Robot by Beltrami

Not going to happen, unfortunately. GC1 had this feature, but due to the large amount of tech support mails it caused, the devs decided it was not worth the cost when players could run their favorite media player in the background anyway.
