EZ Run 6mi @ 8:45 (Planned: 6mi @ 9:17) | ||||
| Weight: 186 | Time: 6:10am | Temp: 19f | Weather: Partly Cloudy | Route: 6x Laps around the sub. |
| Notes: This was one of the nicest runs I have had in quite a wile, It was in fact quite cold but that only bothered me for the first half mile or so, no wind, that makes all the difference. About a 8th of my 1 mile loop was on un-plowed pave ment, with about an inch of powdery snow. I was worried at first because of slipping, but it was fresh enough that I was just like having a nice soft cushion to run on. The rest was normal asfault, salted and Ice free. I had no problem keeping a good pace, and about half way thru the run was joined by a nearly full moon poking out from behind the clouds. Toward the end we were even graced by the beginnings of a beautiful sun rise. On my last lap, when I hit the un-plowed road again I new I was well ahead of my time, so I played a little game. I could see my prints in the snow from the last 5 laps, they were surprisingly even. So I tried to ad a half of a stride length an make sure my foot always past the existing prints, the result was about 3 hundred meters of Oddly bouncing but very quick running. This put me in a nice happy glow for the last half mile or so, and I finished well ahead of my projected time. Apparently I over compensated for my long run "failure" to make my pace time. I new I was running to fast but it was such a nice run that I just kept going, hopefully I wont regret it later. | ||||
