In order to submit a game, you must start it through the metaverse manager.

Is this true?

I've just won my first game of Galciv II. Large galaxy, common habitable worlds, full civs and minor. Intelligent AIs for all.

A balance of power prevailed for most of the game, but then the balance of power was broken and the Arceans and Torians were on the ascendant.

It ended in a big show down between Torian/Altarian/Drath alliance and the mega-powerful Arcean Empire, which wasn't being decisively won by anyone.

Whilst I, allied with the Thalan (the only other surviving major civilization) sat in the middle of the game, watching as all the Arcean's trade went to me and using it to transcend mortality and win a technology victory.

I can't seem to submit my game though, do I have to start the game through the metaverse manager to do this?

Sounds like a good first game. Yse to submit to the Metaverse you must start it through the Metaverse tab.

Yep. I think everyone screws this up the first time, I know I did. The first game you actually submit is the second one that you intended. Just think of it as a good practice run.

is it possible to save a game until later then continue playing and still upload it to the metaverse?

I tried this but it did not work.

Yes, that should work.

I tried this but it did not work.

Did you get an error or just no submission prompt at completion?

Uhh, can it be more obvious???

In fact it could.

I would have thought that it was pretty obvious that you had to click on the Metaverse button in order to start a Metaverse game. Guess I am wrong.

DarthBob, there should be no problems with saving a game and loading as normal. The only problem I have found is that sometimes if you start two Metaverse games during one session, sometimes one game will get classified as normal, and you cannot submit it.

Does that mean that only games above normal difficulty can be submitted? Somehow that doesn't seem right when I see ranking icons as low as cakewalk in these forums

It gets classified as a normal game and not a meta-game. Not that the difficulty is "Normal"

It seems my post to clarify things may done the opposite. In the debug file, a game is classified as either 'metaverse' or 'normal'. This has nothing to do with the difficulty level of a particular game.
