Socialist and Communist ideologues are still rampant in the media and entertainment industries, the first places the Soviets attempted to infiltrate over 80 years ago. Socialism, liberalism and leftist thought are dripping from the walls in colleges and universities. In some, conservative values and ideals are actively discouraged.
McCarthy was kind of a clown, but he was right. There was Communist infiltration in the government and media. There still is....in the form of those indoctrinated while in school....and if it hadn't been for McCarthy shining such light as he did on it, putting them on notice, how much farther would it have gone? |
Personally, I find that McCarthy was power hungry. So, he took the (at the time) hottest topic, and ran with it. His so called, "crusade against the evils of communism," was nothing more than a quest for power.
I mean, at the time, we called ourselves the land of the free. Free? Free what? Free to get bashed at the time for leaning towards communism? Oh joy, that's one hell of a freedom. *rolls eyes* It was persecution, to a low degree perhaps, but persecution none-the-less.
In my opinion, it was wrong.

Something I don't get, what is the big fucking deal with "liberalism"? Seriously, everywhere i look, i see it painted as "a great evil," and must be stopped, or it will bring down the US. *rolls eyes*
I mean, the same can be said of conservatism. Liberalism itself, isn't bad. It's the fringe, the fundamentalist sects that cause the trouble. (The same for conservatism.) There's a general, unthinking, grouping of all liberals.
Then i hear folks complaining, about "the liberal indoctrination," of college students. So what? They're old enough, they can believe what they want. Let them decide whether or not they believe what they're told. They're in college, they're not freaking idiots.
Essentially, it's: "they're all the same," but they're not. No one person is.
| The freedom to cut off a person's hand because they took a piece of bread without asking? |
Oh, and we have the death penalty, which is much nicer. *rolls eyes* How can you say that their punishment is worse? We let people be killed, in so called "justice," which in the end, is justice for no one. It's just vengeance.
