Military Mission CTD

Apparently, there is a glitch in one of the military missions. I show up at the Military starbase to participate in the invasion. I am asked if I am ready to go to sleep and wake up in system. I say "yes" and the next screen is my desktop.

Is this a known bug? If so, is there a patch or a work-around?

Do you have the intro disabled or enabled ? I'm not 100% sure but this type of missions might have a videoclip attached to them and they can crash the game.

Don't ask me why. A couple of first times I played, the intro etc. played just fine but then they started crashing the game. I disabled the intro from game menu and no more crashes.

As for these missions in general I stopped taking part of them because it seems that the military ships (and the base) always got blown away and I was left to fight it alone. But ofcourse you must try every option in this game at least once

Well, I have succesfully done such missions. but I have the intro disabled

In any case, it is better to save before accepting going to sleep: the military base may end in a system where one of the Dominator bosses is (Blazer or Terron, Keller bieng in hypersapce). And if it is the case, the military base will be blown sooner or later.

Killing the video clips seemed to do the trick.

Of course, the mission proved to be a disaster, but that's another issue.
