Dregin - Free ships?

Installed DA tonight and started playing a new game as the Dregin. Set just about everything to random on a Large map. Had two planets and a few asteroid fields and had just finished researching beam weapons. Made one ship to act as a light fighter and started production.

I then noticed I had a ton of ships around my main planet. These weren't the ships I had built and they didn't show up in the shipyard list. But every turn I kept receiving more and more of them. I must have had about 9 or so fleets of 3 ships each. The game created them as fleets not me.

Anyone else run into this? Is this a mega event bug maybe? If I had kept playing, I would have won easily because I was the only one who had any military BEFORE I started receiving the free ships.

The drengin super ability is to recieve free ships if they go to war, but as of now it seems to need some tweaking.

Well holy crap that seems pretty overpowering then. Thanks for the info.

All the super abilities are overpowering when used strategically

yae but the drengin one is really overpowered.
i declared war on a minor race, declared peace, war, peace, war , peace.
i was instantly the strongest, my income went from + to -8000 bc/turn and i had like thousands of ships.
i could all sell them and make tons of money to.
its to much of an exploit.

It is a nice touch though, I like to imagine that they're just so warlike that their lords and nobles keep their own warships, like... private ships or something, and then as soon as you declare war, they all roll out for a piece of the action. Maybe it could be once every few years or something?

Brad has said this will be changed. It is currently set @ 120%. he stated that it is supposed to be 20% instead.
