Couple of Ideas Starbase related for DA.

1) The Starbase techs, why not have them add HPs to starbases, or allow for modules that would increase starbase HP by a large amount. This would keep them from being floating deathtraps. Make Starbase weapons/defenses tie in to specific weapon platforms instead.

2) For resources, tie in the amount you can mine from a resource starbase, to the mining techs introduced in DA.

3) This one might be controversial. Allow transport ships to capture starbases, but allow for troop modules to counteract this.

To tie in with #3, which I have thought about too, you could use the new spy system to allow for spy + troop transporters to capture Starbases. The idea being that the spy is sent in first to "deactivate" defenses if he's successful, then the troop transporter can then follow up and board it and fight it out with the onboard defenses (troops or automated defenses).

Yea not bad ideas but i dont know if they can be implimented into Gal Civ 2 or DA might have to wait for a sequal.
