Options wanted in DA.

This is for game options you want in the game- things that can be turned on and off as desired.

Two off the top of my head.

Super Abilities. I think this one should default to OFF. On an unrelated note, how about a mega event where one race gains the super ability of another race, or their own if this option is turned off? I think the supers belong more in mega events then the main game itself. I do want this as an option though.

Minor Civ Capability. Basically, should they be
-gimped as they are now
-be allowed to colonize planets and build constructors/gain influence, but otherwise gimped
-as powerful as a major, but with no starting techs?

I believe Brad has already stated that he has no plans for making the new major features of DA toggleable. However, if you don't want super abilities, you can just as easily mod the core races or play against custom races that have no super ability ('none' is one of the options when picking one).

I'd like to ask for those plans to be changed. I think a significant amount of players will end up disliking this feature. I can't tell for sure though without more input.

Also, how hard would it be to do a toggle?

More options the better, IMHO.

A no Surrender option.

Either simple, like SEIV Or an option to reduce the likelyhood of surrendering.

If you do a search for surrendering on the forum you will see I am not the only one to raise this point and it is the one factor that will stop me buying any further Galciv games, as for my style of play:

More opponents = more randomness and thus more challenge. As it is now, races surrender sometimes within a few turns of fighting, where does that get fun.

-EDIT

In addition I have always loved supporting losing races, indeed in some games where I play a good race, I set myself a challenge of keeping as many races alive as possible, acting as the peacemaker so to speak. With surrendering as it is, supplying arms to a dying race to keep your opponents busy is not a valid tactic, indeed your better of leaving all your weak allies to rot.

I also agree on your minor race point, I have always done so. Options as to their strength or colonisation rate should be there. All the way from minor races off - minor races gimped - minor races full.
