Endless war?

If you use the strategy of the Democrats and apply it to domestic law enforcement what would we have?

Let’s see. We have the war on poverty started by President Johnson; it is not working so we should end it as it seems to make more poor people.
We have the war on drugs. Arresting drug dealers only creates more drug dealers so we should stop arresting them, they might get mad at us.
Murder is illegal and we have not stopped that with laws and arrests or executions so we need to stop wasting resources on them and spend the money where it will do some good. We don’t want to make them mad at us, no telling what a murderer will do if they get mad and prosecuting them only seems to create more murderers.
Arresting rapist is not a good idea since it will just create more rapists and who wants to make them mad.
Guns! We should stop making guns illegal since it seems to only make the manufacturers mad and their response has been to make more guns.
Education does not seem to work either so we should stop wasting money on education. Besides if people are educated they will see how stupid and dangerous the idea of starting a war and not finishing it is.

That's exactly what they are saying. IN terms of terrorism, the equivalent would be to legalize terrorism so that it wouldn't be such a burden fighting it...

if you were to model law enforcement on what can only laffingly be called the strategy of those who orchestrated the invasion and occupation of iraq what would we have?

something a lot like j edgar hoover crusading against a handful of high-profile public enemies, homosexuals (other than himself, of course) and alleged commies while la cosa nostra expanded and thrived.

What gets me is, they call it an "endless war" yet they applauded the signing of the ceasefire in Safwan, Iraq in 1991. Then they have the nerve to say that this "endless war" started in March of 2003. The U.S. involvement in this war started when Prs. Bush (Sr) agreed to help the deposed government of Kuwait.

Ceasefire agreements create "endless wars"...or did we learn nothing from Korea?

Let’s see if I get this straight. The same strategy that allowed us to win a war that the so called experts said would take 100,000 casualties and five years to win? The same strategy that took us 2 weeks to win with less than a thousand casualties? Sounds like a pretty good strategy to me. Four years and 50 weeks ahead of schedule. With 90,000 fewer casualties than expected. Please try to get this through your narrow mind. The war in Iraq is over and has been over for about three years. The same is true with Afghanistan. The war strategy seems to have worked perfectly. When do we start in the states?

If we learned anything from Korea it is that the UN is never to be trusted.

I would have thought the lesson of Korea was that you don't fight a land war with China on their own turf. Each to their own though.

You truly don’t understand do you? You have been duped by propagandist. Having been on cruises with the Navy it is a festive time the last few days of the voyage. We get all kinds of data from the fleets command like Mission Accomplished. I understand that being hate filled is a natural state for most liberals that proclaim love and understanding of everyone and every thing unless they disagree with you. When the operation is over the people are told either mission failure or mission accomplished. Can you guess which one you want to see on your way home? Since all the troops have not come home yet the sign that all non military people point at as proof that the President was out of touch, was for that ship and crew. I don’t know about the Army or Air Force but in the Navy and Marine Corps it has significant meaning. Of course the people pointing at the sign seeking political gain used it against the president. Anyone in the military would know what it means so either you have not been a part of the military or you choose to use things out of context for political gain which makes you dishonest. Are you FUBAR or un-sat? One is a Marine Corps term the other is mostly used by the Army since you did not understand the significance of the sign and if you don’t know what the two words above are then you are either Air Force or civilian.

that whole dog-and-pony show was definitely all about seeking political gain. very big of you not to have a problem with rove & bush hijacking a phrase with so much meaning for sailors and marines. cuz that's what really happened whether you're able to admit it or not.

You have proof of this? It seems to be contrary to what the ships captian said. Now if you are saying that the President did not mind the sign being a back drop for his broadcast I would agree with you. Name a politician that does not enjoy a good dog and pony show.    I don't mind the sign; what I mind is the lack of facts attached to everything the president does. When he screws up or does something wrong I will admit it as well as oppose the screw up. I will not take things out of context to prove my points or to attack people. As I have written before I have voted for liberals when I thought they were the best person for the job. As a former Democrat I have seen both sides and I don't like the current crop Democrats because they are racist, bigoted homophobs that are driven by hate. I want this nation to be the best it can be not the best Republican nation or the best democrat nation but the best nation. For that to happen we MUST win the war on terror. When President Clinton lied in a court of law I was against him. It had nothing to do with sex it had to do with the law he was elected to uphold. Because of that the Democrats (mostly liberals) have been screaming that President Bush lied about everythng. Tit for tat. All of this sillyness to try to make the current president look as stupid as the last president. The political gain for the Liberals is a desaster for the nation.

I see you did not answer the questions I asked YOU. Does that mean that you are FUBAR? Yet I have answered your questons.
