Everyone that PAID taxes GOT Bush tax-cuts

Simple answer to the stupid question and flawed hypothesis that someone else posted as their latest in a series of Bush bashing articles.

If you paid taxes then you got tax-cuts under the so-called Bush tax-cuts.

I'm no rich man.  Far from it.  My family lives on my relatively modest salary with a little added income from my wife's part time work.  The total amount we make puts us well under levels that any reasonable individual would consider rich.  Normally we'd be well away from having worries about Alternative Minimum Taxes (though the impact of that could wind up catching me eventually as the AMT hadn't been properly indexed to account for inflation so it would continue to hit the targets it was created for).

Over the last several years my taxes have been cut by several thousand dollars.  Not just $1000, but several thousand dollars.  That is money that has helped my family tremendously.  It helped send us on a nice family vacation, helped pay for school supplies for our children, and helped pay for needed household items along the way.

So again, the simple answer to the implied question/statement about who got Bush tax-cuts is *everyone* that paid taxes.  If you paid taxes, you benefited.  If you paid more in taxes than anyone else, then you benefited more.  Simple math that a lot of simpletons with Democrat leanings failed to ever understand.

It is so nice to see that the p-nis envy still exists among those that want to soak the rich and take more from them in taxes.  I'm sure the latest article by the resident taxaholic is just more of the same.

I find it amusing that when talking about tax cuts, what they are really talking about is another government hand out. The only way the middle and lower income tax payers could have gotten a larger cut would have been to give them something they did not pay for, i.e. a tax subsidy. Like you, I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination (except in the perverted view of the entitlement class), but I did walk away with a nice raise in take home pay due to the cuts. Did I get $20k a year more? Hardly, as I dont pay that much.

If you are going to bitch about how big a cut the ones who paid the most in taxes got, at least be honest about it and admit that you are not talking tax cuts, but tax increases. And like all tax increases, while the middle class will not pay the most in them, it will impact them the greatest.

Colleen and I are getting around 4k more a year that we were getting, we are well off but hardly rich. If we were rich Colleen could retire now instead at 55 {3 more years}

But I am sure somehow colgangrene would want to take the 4k we have and give it to some "deserving" {read lazy mofo}

Pretend for a moment that the Col. is 100% right. In the end, he is still advocating taking money away from US and sending it to the government.

How? The rich keep their money in the bank. That's money that is loaned to you and me. They invest in businesses that employ you and me. They buy items that we produce in our jobs, and buy property that creates BILLIONS in tax revenue for state and local governments that pay for services for... you guessed it... you and me.

The Col is using the same tired argument that hasn't worked for more than a few years at a time. Eventually when you hurt the wealthy, you hurt us, and when we are hurting we take vengeance on the people who made empty promises and worsened our condition. That's the Dems, almost 100% of the time.

Yep, nothing like increasing taxes on the wealthy and corporations to create an increase in unemployment and stifle the econonmy, thus reducing overall Federal tax revenues.
