Politics, religion, and veterans.

There has been change. I can tell you that I am very concerned about the next actions of the president of the United States and the American congress.

I have already seen stories on what programs the democrats want to get involved in during their short stint in power.

Increasing the minimum wage will reduce corporate investment and slow down the economy.

An increase in government grants for college students will cost money which means democrats will try to increase taxes on the wealthy.

Increase assistance for working families, again will cost money and increase taxes.

Whatever happened to keeping it in your pants until you are able to afford children.

Moreover, why should I pay taxes for other people’s children?

Of course all this tax and spend means more money for social programs and less for military defense and counter-terrorism.

This morning in the El Paso Times, the front page was on how people in this city trust the American congress less than they do the president.

Tell me how did these democrat yahoos got elected to a majority in congress.

Some newspaper articles mentioned that democrats are gaining ground with religious people.

Listen to me carefully. If you are a born again Christian dedicated to service to Jesus Christ and voted for democrats you voted for a murderer and therefore you are a murderer.

Abortion is murder and I cannot see how a true Christian would not see that point.

This brings me to my second point. I was thinking about what could a possible Spiritual message be in such a messed up world.

I can to the conclusion that the world is going to get worse. However, this does not mean there is no hope.

God will only ask simple things of most people. Most of us are just suppose to work for a home, sustenance, children, and maintenance of the church.

No matter what you confront, as long as you can say your savior is Jesus you will have victory in heaven.

When we get in to major credit card debt this seems almost impossible. However, I can tell you from personal experience that it is possible to provide for your self just find with out a college degree.

My last point has to do with Veterans Day. I heard some thing that I will paraphrase and what to me suns up military service.

A wife of a WWII soldier said this to explain why she did not give her 30-year-old husband much grief about signing up to serve during WWII.

She said some thing along the lines of IN TIMES OF TROUBLE HONORABLE MEN COME TO THE ASSISTANCE OF THEIR COUNTRY.

TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED, ARE SERVING, WILL SERVE, AND YOUR FAMILIES THANK YOU.

In your vision of Jesus, were he alive today, you believe that he would favor cutting social programs and increasing military spending? Is there a new version of the Bible where, instead of ministering to the lepers, Jesus "Hey! It was a lifestyle choice!"

Hmmm. Short stint? Not that I really care, but I am interested in how you forecast the democrats "stint" in power.

Uhhh. In case you have not noticed, the cost of living increased massively as compared to the minimum wage. Perhaps corporate executives could suffer a pay cut or perhaps a few less bonuses.

Now thats a real crime. Try not to forget that educating America is good for the economy. I recall you despise the slowing of our economic machine.



Increase assistance for working families, again will cost money and increase taxes.




Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps taxes would be better spent supporting these families that bust their balls to survive, but at times, simply cannot.



Cripes, you don't like it when we educate them so they can support themselves, then gripe when we need to give them a helping push.

Because you live in a nation, and not on your private little island. I don't mind helping my neighbor as long as they are legal. I suppose thats because I'm a human, and I care about people.



What do you propose we do with these children. You oppose helping them through college, you seem to prefer keeping them impoverished rather than raise the minimum wage. Lets just kill them and burn them. Then you can save $15 on your next years taxes.

Well as far as I can tell, via the current voting system; the majority of the voters did this. Imagine, you may not represent the majority.

This is the most idiotic comment I have ever heard. The republicans allow abortions, that makes you a murderer as well. Sheesh.

Many of us do work, and work our asses off every day. Have a look around, it's not enough. Its your precious views on how our taxes should be spent that corrupts the hope of those that need a little push.

That would be "into" and "just fine".



What is possible for one, may not be possible for all.

Well as far as I can tell, via the current voting system; the majority of the voters did this. Imagine, you may not represent the majority.


Wrong answer! Only 40% of eligible voters actually voted. 40% is not a majority of the voters. Now of the 40% that did vote that, is a different story. Republicans have no one to blame but themselves for the mess they're in.

Tell me, are you narrow minded? Is it impossible that there isn't another way, through Allah, Yaweh, whomever...to find peace. Yes, in my opinion there is.

I say: "Find your own path, your own horse, and your own journey. Life will deal with the rest."

I don't believe Jesus is my savior, but I do believe in God the almighty, does that mean I won't go to heaven? I've given my life to him, and have followed him. I'd like to think that he wouldn't be so obtuse, and -well- narrow minded as to not accept those who believe in him. I mean, besides...you still have faith, in him.

Also, how about the "translation" of the bible, and such? Who's to say that the (catholic)church didn't adjust it, or such. Humans are fallible, and easily corrupt. That's why I don't go to church, I've chosen to follow God my own way, via myself.

I follow God, i'd be labelled as christian even though i don't consider myself such ,and i voted democrat this election....

That does NOT mean that I am a murderer. To be one, you must have comitted it, and I'm never going to do that, i would never take a life.

My girlfriend voted Democrat this election, and she is very pro choice, that does not make her a murderer.

I would find it incredibly disheartening to find out that God chooses sides in american politics. To me, he tosses it aside, and looks at each and every man, woman, and child's heart. Not, there party, or beliefs.

You say you are a born again christian, yet you have shown yourself to be hypocritical. You've judged people, you made false claims, boasted, etc... That is contrary to being a born again christian. Granted, we are human, and we make mistakes...but, would you accept that you did a ill deed, and repent, or hold yourself to a lofty status and continue your willful, arrogant, preaching - when you are merely hypocritical.

Honorable men, by whose standards?

Hard workers? Free thinkers? People who would fight for your rights, who in turn identify as liberals, or democrats.

Again, by whose standareds?

And why not? Why not assist those who are not able to assist themselves, or by charities. There is not one cure to fix them all.

What about those in states such as Indiana who make approximately 5.50 and hour, and are barely surviving (if at all).

Would it come down to: "Spare the strong, and let the weak perish."

I propose this:

1. Establish a minimum wage, something reasonable.

2. Those states that are above the national wage, stay at where they are until such time as they are below the national wage - then, they would have to adjust to the national wage, and follow it.

3. Those states that are below it, have to adhere to it, and raise the minimum wage accordingly.

I find this to be great. I honestly feel that the wealthy, or any well off person, has a moral obiligation to help those around them in whatever way they can.

Okay, Doc....when have we ever had a decent turn out for voting? Erm, never. There will never be a majority, unless we stick a hot metal poker up every single american's ass, figuratively speaking of course. We don't seem to value our right to vote.

Sorry Dr. M, but i did not say the majority of eligible voters, I said the voters. Thats the people that voted. Thats how it happened. I simply can't see it any other way.

Ideally, 100%, but I realize that is never going to happen.

So, 50 to 60%, while not exactly ideal, sounds good to me.

Thinking about it, what if that other 60% had voted - how would the election have turned out, how would all of our elections have turned out?

What if Kennedy, T. Roosevelt, FDR, Nixon, Linlcoln, etc... never were elected?

Gives one something to think about for sure. History can be made, or broken by voting.

you are confusing ministering to the poor and providing all the poors needs so they dont have to do anything for themselves. If you really know the Bible, than you know what God says about personal responsibility.

I never said they shouldn't work. I am saying that helping people in times of needs. For example, myself and my mother. At this time, we are both living in HUD housing. She is making 140 dollars a week, that is 580$ a month. Me, I'm making 7.50 an hour, and am getting around 4 hours a week, that is 16 hours a month.

Our rent is around 175$ a month right now, and then we have our bills. Gas, electricity, garbage, water, etc...

Right now, we are on hard times. Thankfully not as bad as it could be, but still...folks like ourselves, or those worse...deserve help. They should get help, but only to get them by when they are trying to get back on top.

i.e. aid while they find jobs, etc...

That's not even close to this. Just because you voted for democrats, does not mean you agree with abortion. I voted straight democrat, and i do not agree with abortion. Does that make me a killer? No.
