I Voted, and I Voted Early

Here in Florida early voting has become a big convenience. Many people are unable to vote on Tuesday because they have to work, have transportation problems, etc. So Florida allows early voting and allows for people to vote with an absentee ballot if need be also. My wife is unable to leave work, and with me working from home now, going to the polls on election day can be a chore, but it's something I do not want to miss. So we both received our absentee ballots and proceeded to vote for the people who are best to defend this country.

While I am not ashamed of being a Republican, or conservative on some issues, I would like to explain why I voted to keep Republicans in power. The main reason is very simple......defending our country and fighting terrorism.

I would never turn this responsibility over to the democrats simply because "they don't get it". They have fought to undermine most policies to protect our country. They are against the Patriot Act (even though they voted for it). They are against surveillance of terrorists in the United States. Democrats go out of their way to make sure terrorists have the same rights as American citizens. I really can't find anything democrats have done to try and help protect us.

You have elected Democrats telling us our troops are murderers, and that they are no better than Pol Pot., and compare them to Russian gulags. You have elected Democrats telling us the U.S. is no better than Saddam. It's actually hard to find democrats saying something good about this country. I believe they would rather us lose this war, just so they can further their hatred for Bush.

Now I am not happy with the Republican party as a whole. They have gone soft and have allowed the democrats and their media allies to do and say whatever they please without consequence. That really shows during this election when the media is so blatantly biased it isn't even funny anymore.

However, with all being said I read something the other day that confirmed that voting to keep Republicans in power is necessary.

"We advise the American people … do not vote for Bush and his ilk," Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli of Iran said."

Now first off, it's hard to tell whether this quote was made by an Ayatollah from Iran, or a member of the democratic party. It's obvious the increased violence in Iraq is meant to sway the elections. So the big question is this............

Why do terrorists want the democrats to win?

Maybe because it's in their best interest, and for that reason alone is enough for me to keep Republicans in power.

You voted early, shame you did not vote often.

Oh, Wait, sorry, you said you are a republican.  That explains the single vote.

I also votred early in Florida. I took a look at the past six years and knew that the GOP did not deserve to remain in power! Here are the reasons:

Sending our troops to their death and injury in a war that was unjustified and that has not made America safer.

Sending our military to war without the troop strength needed and without the needed equipment.

Causing the death of over 2,800 brave troops and the wounding of over 20,000 others.

Over stretching the military causing multiple troop deployments and the over use of Guard and Reserve forces

Failing to enforce our laws.

Failing to protect our border and ports.

Failure to make our trade policy fair to American workers.

Failure to move us toward energy independence.

Failure to find solutions to the funding of Social Security and Medicare.

Failure to fund his No Child Left Behind Program.

Creating an annual budget deficit and increasing the National debt by $3 Trillion Dollars.

Creating the most political strife among Americans since our Civil War.

Creation of ill will among almost EVERY country in the world toward our foreign policy.

Ignoring the needs of the poor and to help rebuild the Gulf after the worst natural disaster in our history.

Appointing people that were unqualified and corrupt which has resulted in major misuse of taxpayer money.

Attempting to undermine the authority of Congress by signing statements and failing to enforce the laws passed by congress.

Indifference to millions of Americans who are losing their health care.

Shifting the burden from the wealthy to the middle income Americans.

Favoring the interests of Big Business over the welfare of the average American.

Using the classification process to cover up things that are not security issues but things Bush did not want to become known.

Failure to meet the commitments Bush made when serving as a member of the National Guard and the failure of Cheney to serve in our military.

Col, so many of your cut and paste democrat talking points are pure nonsense. I would take the time to go through them, but it's seriously pointless to do that with an obsessive Bush hater.

But I bet col, you can't list anything the democrats will do solve your opinions.

The terrorist advise American to vote Democrat because they gain an Allie if they win.

how frustrating must it be to know the col's vote neutralized yours?

I believe the democrats will make the tax cuts for Middle Income taxpayers permanent and allow the tax cuts for the wealthy to end which will help with the deficit. The democrats will address health care. They will move closer to a balanced budget for starters.

Every issue I listed is 100% correct and shows WHY the GOP does not deserve to control congress. Given the limited number of GOP incumbents up for reelection in the Senate, it may take until 2008 to shift control of the Senate. I believe the house will change this election!

How? They haven't been very successful with it in the past.

You are wrong on most because most are just your opinion. If democrats do win the House it will be by a slim margin, not very convincing that America is looking for this big "change" as you democrats claim.

Glad to hear you voted!! And yeah, I am glad to hear you voted Republican too, but more glad that you bothered at all.

I have to say that I am dead set against any early voting, or even voting "absentee" when you aren't absent from the state. Here in Wisconsin that is allowed also and accounts for large number of bogus votes. Of course, it is available to you, so as long as that sort of silliness is still legal, by all means, use it while you can. Hopefully there wil be a day when we get tired of making it so convenient to vote that you don't even have to be a citizen to vote anymore... of course, I'm equally hoping for the day when American Citizens get off their butts and vote at all.

Well, sometimes dreams come true. ;~D

As for ColGene, he's been preaching the fall of our economy and military for longer than I have been at JU and we have yet to see his sort of doomsday scenarios occur.

So, we'll just keep laughing at him like we do all the other liars and false prophets of disaster.

EVERYTHING you listed is 150% INCORRECT! Your hate has blinded you to the path. Do not go that way because that way leads to the dark side of the force!
