After turning their backs on Joe Lieberman and selling him out because he is a free thinker and would not toe the party line |
many democratic people supported lieberman in the primary. they included bill clinton and harold ford.
when the primary was over, and lamont won, was the democratic party supposed to support him then over their own candidate? if they supported lieberman at that point, ya'll would have been crying that the democrats have no party unity or loyalty.
the people of conneticut didn't want joe lieberman as their democratic candidate. your issue is with them, not the national party.
the republicans however, have not supported their candidate at all. they spent nothing on schlessinger up there.
butif ya think joe is gonna flip republican, you are fooling yourself.
wish he would start his own party. I think they would garner a lot of the support in the middle. It will be good to see him back in the senate next year, regardless of his party affiliation. |
remember guy, i made the call a while back that a centrist 3rd party could be on the horizon...it's a longshot, but i for one would like to see the shake-up. it would be good for our republic, and democracy as a whole imho.
