Total Gaming's Games

Ok I'm going to purchase both Space Rangers 2 and Pre-order Dark Avatar (I want to get into the closed beta =P) but I'm wondering how to do it.

Well thats a bit off, I know how to do it (my new and first credit card!) but I'm wondering whether it would be better to just pay for the two games at a cost of $60 or buy 10 tokens for $70. The problem is I'm not sure whether there's actually any games I would spend my extra tokens on.

The corporate machine looks semi-intereasting and I'm going to try the demo. I've tried Aveyond and while I like the fact they made it sprite based the scrolling problems, it was chunkiy and acted like some amateur gamemaker games I've tried.

Anyway the games that kinda of have my eye are, I was wondering if anyone could comment on their quality, replayablity, appeal through the first playthrough, general fun factor and or anything else you might think important.

Flatspace - 2 tokens
Jets'n'Guns - 2 tokens
Xeno Assault II - 2 tokens
O-R-B: Off-World Resource Base - 1 token
Daemonica -2 tokens
The Corporate Machine - 2 tokens
The political machine - 2 token

I know it's a bit of a list, but any comments would be appreciated and likely will make a difference in my purchases. If you think theres a really good game that should be on my consideration list please let me know. On the flip side if you don't really think 3 of those games are worth the $10 savings please let me know.

Hmm I've downloaded the corporate machine but I can't actually try the demp because I need to connect to Stardock.net and it won't do that even though I am connected to the internet.

depends on the way you pay for them. i used paypal and i could spend them immediatly,

@Morberis:
Flatspace is quite simular to space rangers. but the only thing flatspace got and space rangers does not, are 3D Graphics while flying in space and maybe very good music. there should be a demo available at stardock.

Anyway you should buy the tokens. you never know if there will be another game you want to buy via TNG. for example another expansion for galciv

They should be available immediately? I used a credit card, and it's the wee hours of a sunday morning and I'm not entirely sure at all how credit card billing works seeing as this is my first use of it ever.

I did just recently purchase 10 tokens, and I'm in a bit of confusion about the whole thing. Which is all probably caused by the fact it is the wee hours of a sunday morning.

Heck I'm going to paste my email to customer support and maybe it'll get answered here sooner.

----------------------------------
Ok I have a few questions.

I recently purchases 10 tokens and I was wondering how long it takes the
purchase to process so that I can spend them.

I also have a serial number for Gal Civ 2 registered but to my normal
email address of [email protected], the reason for the difference is
I use my school email for all legal/financial/important transactions. Now
when I went to register the serial number for the product (the 10 tokens)
via stardock central it required that I use my school email address. Will
the 10 tokens still be updated on my account (Morberis, email
[email protected]) or are they stuck somewhere in limbo?

Hmm I guess this is around the confusion between the stardock store login,
totalgaming network login (which should be the same as my galciv2 login,
correct?). It's either that or I'm getting myself confused, which is
possible seeing as its 2am here.

If you have any answer's they're appreciated, if you need to ask me
anything go ahead (I'm not sure how coherent all the above is).

Let me see if I understand correctly: you are wondering if having 5 free token for only 10$ is worth the expense? Looking for your list, I am wondering why you haven't mentionned Sins of a Solar Empire https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/index.html ? Sure it isn't available yet on TGN, but it will be soon for preordering. And those who will peorder will be able to participate in the beta starting in january, the release date being set for August 2007

Also you might wanna check out Gish for your list, a very interesting take on platforming game.

I have both jets n guns and Offworld resource base....

Jets n Guns, fun little game will keep u amused for a little while, not sure on the 2nd time thru tho....

O.R.B......IMHO dont waste your money, frankly, its a good concept, decent plot but it just doesnt deliver on the game play....

All that being said, is $10 an amount you need right now? If not buy the tokens, like bodyless said ya never know whats around the corner, ya might be able to hold them till GalCiv 3 comes out......

after recieving a reciept from stardock it said that i would recieve an email and my CC would not be charged until the game is released.... I have gotten No Email, A $30 charge on my credit card and No response from support at stardock!!!! SHAME ON YOU STARDOCK!

Yes I had heard that's how they're doing the pre-orders, which is why I want to use tokens

Hmmm I bought tokens last night and it's still not showing up as me actually having tokens. Is that normal?

Ok here’s what happened in a more understandable format
1)I login with my stardock store info which contains a different email than my GalCiv2/TG Net account because it is a store
2) I am told to insert a serial number to register a product in my stardock central account, I due so only to find that I need to use my store email
3)I am wondering if that registered them to the same account
4)It shows that I have 0 tokens, how long should it take for them to show up?
5) Was that serial number even for the tokens?
6) Have I screwed up somewhere along the way

I'm getting a bit squirrely because I want to play Space Ranger's 2, lol.
How long does it usually take to get a reply from customer support? Do they work on sundays?

Your credit card has not been charged yet. We have not processed the pre-orders yet. What you're seeing is a credit card authorization from your cc company. They're basically putting the funds on hold until the order is processed. If you didn't get an email confirming your pre-order, please email [email protected] and they'll get you sorted out.

Hi Morberis,

The Stardock Store and Stardock.net accounts are separate for security reasons. However, if you used different email addresses for them, then your purchases won't be synced, which is why you're not seeing your tokens.

You can either try logging into Stardock Central using your other email address (which will need a Stardock.net account under it), or support can merge your accounts instead.

Ah, thank you for the info.

So am I correct in that I just need to email support to do this? What information should I provide - to eliminate any delays lol.

As for opinion on games:

Jets N Guns - What a fun game. Love it. I've played it all the way through at least half a dozen times. If you just want to sit down and blow stuff up and not think it's awesome. I was hooked after 5 minutes of the demo.

Xeno Assualt II - Very galaga like. Again, another mindless shooter that's great to waste some time with.

Space Rangers 2 - Just got this game and it totally rocks. Loved it after checking out the demo.

Gun Metal - Great game and only costs 1 token. Great mech/flying fighting game with missions. Check out the demo at least.

Gal Civ and Gal Civ 2 of course.
I've tried a lot of other demos but nothing else really appeals to my taste. I'm now out of tokens but with Sins of a Solar Empire coming out I'll need to re-up a token pack.

Yup, just open a support ticket and tell them your problem. Also be sure to include the email addresses you've used so they can find your records in the database.

Already did it, thanks for the help!

In the future though you might want to look about adding a message in there about this because I know I'm not the only one that uses one email for bussiness and one email for pleasure.
