WindowFX, ObjectBar, and shadows

Folks,
I am using the latest ObjectBar(2.0) with WindowFX(3.00xx), and wish to know if I can disable the shadowe effect on my ObjectBar theme's bar, while still getting shadows on the menus in my ObjectBar theme.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Zubaz,
I have my own ObjectBar theme that has a bar across the top of the screen with drop-down menus. I started WindowFX for the shadows, and it put a shadow on the main bar as well as the menus. So, I would like to disable shadowing of the main bar.

Thanks,
Tim

LOL

I had to build a bar, change my wall to something that I could see the shadow on, change my skin to one that was not per-pixel before I could even see what you saw.

So there I am, thinking "Wow, this looks great."

And no, there is no way to turn off shadows for parts of the bar.

And I stinks that I can't have WinFX shadows on OB bars because Windowblinds per-pixel skins prevent it.

Sorry man. Maybe the OB dev or the WinFX dev will see this and respond.

It can't really be called a bug. It falls more into the "feature request" realm and that's a place where many a mortal has been disappointed.

Thanks Zubaz. BTW, I am guessing you already tried this on your desktop, but there is a checkbox under 'System Information' on the WindowBlinds tool labeled 'Never use per pixel borders on a skin'. Have you tried setting that? It is the only thing I did unusual on WB.

You are right about feature requests: I am in Ops at a Software company, and few companies handle customer sat issues pertaining to feature requests very well. There is typically the 'black hole' effect: Feature Request goes in, never to return.

I need to clarify, Stardock is one of the most responsive companies I have ever dealt with. They are available here in the forums, IM, email, and most of all in IRC. They patch bugs faster than anyone. And they DO add features per user request (I've seen a few of mine make it into the (ever-so-cool) ThinkDesk suite. User requests are just tertiary to bug fix, internally driven features, and new apps.

As far as turning of the per-pixel in WB, I don't want that. I just want WinFX to apply shadows to everything else that are not per-pixel (like a OB bar I have made).
