Natural Desktop- Zip Code Problem

I just downloaded Natural desktop today, (meaning I have the latest version), and I am not able to customize my location. I enter my zip code, but the list that comes up just has series of three lines and when I roll over them, they are locations in Michigan. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition and have tried disabling my anti-virus program and adding Natural Desktop to my "Exceptions" list with Windows Firewall, but nothing has improved the problem.

Thanks for any help!

what zip code or location?

open the weather
click 'map'
click "click here to change the location"

click the white text 'Search using Zip"

enter 80631

you should get 9 choice with Greeley-Weld County as the closest

Have done this but, as I said in my original post, I just get a list of three dashes.

Just making sure. You said you just got it and I've lots of posts with people trying to figure out how to install screenshots.

What AV - does is have script blocking?

Not a problem...I have dealt with those same types of people!

I have Symantec AntiVirus...I checked all of its settings, but didn't see anything that would pertain to script blocking.

Is it any different than Norton?

I had Norton before - used to get 'Malicious Script Warning' running objects and widgets until I turned it off.

which version?

Did you install ND as a stand a lone download via normal or through Stardock Central Browser?

Installed ND as a standalone.

I'm not very familiar with Symantec...I usually use McAfee. I'm actually thinking of uninstalling Symantec to see if it makes a difference. I actually used ND earlier this year when I had McAfee, and never had problems.

uhhhh.... okay....just in case....do you have a disk with SP2 handy?

Symantec make Norton but they have different names for different version/levels, that's why I asked earlier

I now use TrendMicro with no issues.

Yes, I do. Why??

i tried to upgrade from Norton 2003 to 2005 - 5 days of uninstalling/reinstalling/using at least 8 of their uninstallers - i finally just took it off and went with TM.

Months later I found out reading another post uninstalling Norton can break your BITS - reinstalling SP2 is the only way to fix it. If you just go to WU and try to reinstall it, it will tell you it's already installed - go away and have a nice day. The only way for me to do it was to download the IT version to disk.

Eeek! Maybe I'll just try ND again some other time, then. This is a new laptop, (and my only computer at the moment, as my Macintosh is being repaired, and I'm also a senior in college, so having a machine is vital), so I really can't take the chance of something going wrong, especially since I just got everything loaded onto the notebook, and wouldn't be too tickled with ANOTHER hard drive needing to be wiped!

probably a good idea

but I'd check those setting carefully - some have expanded options when clicked

Here's Jafo's little broken BIT saga: WWW Link - it's what made me check my BITS
