Will there be a Homeworld?

well... if there is a homeworld I just think that it will 1 ) have its own special title and 2 ) start out farther built up than any other planet

other than that I really cant see other significance to it, although capturing it might create moral problems in your target.

Well, it being the planet you start with, It's probably the one which will be most developed. Also, it will always be planet your species is good with (earth-like for TEC.)

that's about it really. I don't think it will be build up at the start of the game, you'll need to do that yourself probably, also, further into the game, it's likely that your whole homesystem will be a pinacle of development.

Yes, you start on a homeworld and it will have more potential than the other worlds but it will only start partially built up.

Will it have an impact on my game if its taken?

If it has more potential, it will probably be one of your most valuable worlds.
Will there be a losing homeworld ends game mode?

ok, these are good questions and fmho it's a type of eagerness that we all humans posses. anyways, how about multiplayer layouts? how will your homeworld start out? Blair where you talking from a single player perspective or multiplayer?

we have waited this long and a beta is soon to be released so i guesse a little hint or "threat" if you will, wouldn't hurt a bit right? :_)

Hmm, a sudden death type game where you loose when the homeworld is taken would be nice for those short games.

Yes LionHeart. You will lose valuable income and resources from a prime planet, not to mention your pride. You are more likely to lose an asteroid or secondary planet - as most people would protect their homeworld with defense platforms and other goodies.

Devs -- it could be frustrating so maybe not a good idea, but consider what might happen to a nation if it's capital city were dealt a harsh blow, crippling its government; if it wasn't prepared (depending on your tech system, a research item for "shadow government" that allowed for "backup" capitals could be added), production, trade, research -- everything could be disrupted until a new capital is established. This would create significant strategic value to a homeworld and necesitate its protection.

research doesnt make much sense considering it is done at seperate R&D sights...
although a bust to universal allegiance makes some sense...

We should be able to name our homeworlds!
