Diplomatic Treaties...

As the Expansion has been postponed until Feb '07, I hope it is time to drop a few suggestions; (I hope that is okay.)

1. Free passage - At the moment, there is no restriction on passage through ones territory. Is'nt it possible to add a feature to allow for limitation on passage through ones territory? Or atleast having limitation on allowing military vessels passing through your territories, then allowing freighters, colony ship, constructors passing through...? As a diplomatic treaty? (I usually have several minor races within my territories, but am unable to stop any attack, as my military might usually is last of all the major powers.)

2. United Planets - More Trade Routes, is it possible to get this function to work? At the moment, we don't get any more routes, even when the UP chooses to allow for more...

3. More often UP Meetings - At the moment, I think they are a bit uncommon, and also have some abilities to have influence in what is voted on at the UP.

Well I would like the option to tell the AI to get the hell out of my space, as they so often mention to me when I am on my way to invade... I think the treaty thing had been mentioned before, however I am unsure as if it is on the list of features to be developed.

I believe that the specific wording is to immediately allow more available trade routes. Ie, you can get max trade routes without researching the tech to allow you have to have max trade routes.

3. More often UP Meetings - At the moment, I think they are a bit uncommon, and also have some abilities to have influence in what is voted on at the UP.


They happen every 52 weeks, at the start of a new year. I personally find the UP meetings useless, however the added complexity of submitting items to vote on might be a little complex. (not that I know anything about programming)

1) No-one owns any territory, other than the planets.

2) I think that's hard coded, and I hope it'll change.

3) I believe this was looked at, can't remember what the verdict was. I'd much rather have smaller, more frequent meetings myself, and the annual large debate one.
