Most Usable & Most Original Wallpapers - Top 10

Yesterday, we closed user voting on the second wallpaper event; Most Original.  Today we enter the official Judge Vote phase for wallpapers, with results being announced for each event later this week.  The judges will be presented with a list of the top-ten user voted entries in each event, they will rank them 1-10 and give them each their own relative score (again, 1-10).  Below, are the top-ten for both events that the judges will all be voting on.  Congrats to all of our competitors who made it to these lists!  Yours are the top ten out of nearly 200 accepted wallpapers!

NOTE: The order the walls are presented in below is NOT their ranking according to votes received.

Our judges will begin voting on the entries tomorrow.  This delay in getting the fraudulent votes sorted out may push back announcing the wall event winners by a day or so.  Expect results to be posted Thursday and Friday of this week.

Again, congrats to everyone who placed in the top ten, and good luck with the judges panel this week!

...didn't know that a wall could win on both categories?

Yup, all walls qualify for all wall events.  We didn't provide the option to specify which event you were entering.

so... do the judges vote on only the ones that were picked?? wow, out of the most usable "allison" by jhoss did not make it?? and only like three of the ones in most usable are actually...."usable" ? strange competition. next year just leave it up to the judges, as only ppl with a subscription can vote.. and only ppl that serious are the artist and their freinds... but i would have to say out of the ones that did make it blue eye is wayyy practical... and sharp.

Sorry but I take offence at that...I'm definitly not an Artist...and I know noone here, co can't be counted as a friend.

I voted...2 of the ones in one category and 2 different ones in the other category made it...but my fave, for both categories...origional and useable (using it now) TUSCANY by dimage didn't make it at all but thats a democracy..

good luck to all

Cheers

I'm surprised by the results. As another poster stated I thought Allison should have been up there, but BlueEye made it! Congratulations to the winners anyways, and good job by all who entered.

Here were my votes for most original

1. BlueEye by eyeballdesign (made it in the top 10!)
2. Mind Full of Music by Bohemy (knew this was a long shot but I thought it was very original)
3. Allison by Jhoss

With so many wallpapers, what ended up happening was the number of votes was spread VERY thin.  Most people at least voted for their own walls at least once, reducing the number of total votes to go around even more.  With fewer total wallpapers, the results might have ended up differently.

Also, just because you think something is good, doesn't mean others do.  Wallpapers are EXTREMELY subjective to judge.    What you like isn't what someone else likes.  What you dislike isn't necessarily what someone else will dislike etc.

Remember, it's in relation to what is submitted/accepted into the contest.

I don't think it's fair. Most usable and most original should be judged seperately. After all, we voted for them seperately and there's a HUGE difference between what'susable and what's original. Just my personal opinion, but I took a lot of time deciding on my votes and maybe my votes would've been different if I had known that I was voting for most usable AND most original.

They were judged separately.  You voted on them separately to come up with the top ten list (while there is overlap, that's because people voted for the same wallpaper both times).  The judges voted on each list of ten separately as well.
