Bad language

If the forum moderators don't lock a thread or warn someone, that means they tolerate the behaviour. As far as I'm aware, any language policy here is on the base of tact as opposed to "do it or get a ban". Even Psycho got warnings. And it's spelt "disease".

And what on earth are you talking about anyway? I've seen no bad language for a long while, and I check these forums fairly regularily.

Kryo doesn't need to know your password. He can ban whoever he likes. He is the chief forum moderator, and basically on here his word is law.

As for images, go to my account - update image - choose.

If you see threads with inappropriate language or objectionable subject language, please come in #galciv on irc.stardock.com and report it to one of the ops, or e-mail one of the moderators if no one responds.

Have you heard the way 13 year olds talk lately? Cmon, I agree that swearing might not be appropriate on here, but to turn into Tipper Gore? Don't start requesting a politically correct forum, or you know what will happen then. Kids have worse potty mouths than most adults, and just because they may not talk to you that way doesn't mean they don't speak the words. Lighten up. And don't be a "Tipper".

As far as bad language is concerned, I have not seen any, but like Cari said, report specific threads that do offend, I know it's Stardocks desire to keep these forums family friendly.

I have been Marca, so watch out, they mean it. Only for a weekend but it was bad enough believe it or not. Oh, and it was CariElf who did my banning, but that's another story.

Best thing to do is use a filter that replaces inappropriate words with something appropriate. Most public forums use one.

People using inappropriate language should be disciplined, not just filtered out.

The filter is a good idea, but when it is used there should be a red flag raised somewhere to stop whoever (whomever?) raised it.

But, I have not seen much bad language on this forum either. Incorrect usage and spellings, flamings, yes, but not that much outright swearing or obscene type language.

No need to insult the OP and belittle his concerns. I have not seen bad language here recently myself, but I agree with the OP about maintaining a degree of civility and maturity and, yes, morality in our conversation. It is absurd to say "they do it anyway, so we should allow it," which seems to be what you are arguing. (And believe me, my 5 kids did not use gutter talk when they were 13, or any other age). Anyone who does not have the intelligence or self-control to speak appropriately should not be given free reign to spew it out on others. I appreciate the job that (as far as I can see) is being done to keep these forums on a higher level. If it were any different, I would not be coming here as much as I do.

This is great, so long as the filter isn't idiotic and messes with words like assassin and making it buttocksbuttocksin. That only makes it worse.

Damb , if that's your idea of a post that deserves deletion, then I think you ought to consider that maybe you're just a little bit thin-skinned. As internet forums go, this is one of the most well-behaved and polite I know of. I'm all for respectful behaviour, but the kind of heavy-handed moderating you're calling for is highly undesirable and also, in my experience (and I have been a forum moderator for years) highly counter-productive.

The GC2 forums are about as good as it gets.

It's not that I'm in a bad mood, it's that the forum has been infested with a self righteous ignorant 12 year old who wont be quiet until he gets his way. Kryo and Cari are NOT your servants. The thread stays. You don't get threads deleted by whining. IF they deserve deleting, be sure that kryo will do it. You're just annoyed that you aren't getting your way.

Ahahaha... yes he does. Now that is an example of a forum which would probably make the night hawk wet himself, if he thinks this is bad.

By offensive, I don't mean annoying.  If I deleted everything that annoyed people, we wouldn't have much of a forum left.
