Use Unique Filenames For ALL Submissions

Ok, a lot of you have been noticing, or have fallen victim to a gotcha in our submissions system.  Every file you upload, including preview images, need to have unique filenames.  Failing to do this will result in overwritten files, mismatched previews and other issues.

This is especially important for those of you who are submitting entries across all three categories.  As an example, lets say you are working on a complete theme called "Zoomba Rocks", it is made up of a wallpaper, an icon set and a WindowBlinds theme.  Here is how I would suggest you name things:

WB Submission

  • Preview: zrocks_wb_prev.jpg
  • Entry: zrocks_wb.wba

Wallpaper Submission

  • Preview: zrocks_wp_prev.jpg
  • Entry: zrocks_wp.zip

Icon Submission

  • Preview: zrocks_ip_prev.jpg
  • Entry: zrocks_ip.ip

This is just one suggested way to keep your files straight and make sure nothing is lost or deleted by accident.  It also will help us moderate the queue better, especially when trying to track down errors in uploads.

What is in your windowblind that makes it 15mb?  I'm still checking on the technical issue.  And I would suggest against special characters in file names.

If it occupies 15 MB because takes advantage of Windowsblind 5 al MAX. ..100% all the possible resources. ..perpixel, ghyps, etc

now I have changed the name to the skin... now is called: BioVistaMax.wba but..
continues weighing 15MB...

Is this WB just "one" version?
It's either got '50' substyles or 25 wallpapers included with it.
There is no way "one" WB could be that large a file.

I'd love to get my hands on it, just to chop it up. To reduce it.
My guess is a 'wall pack' included. If there are substyle, it's probably using the same images 2,3,4 maybe even 5 times.

It is a single Style and works alone but... what causes weigh him but they are ..wallpaper, log off background.. please wait, shoutdown background, buttons and what happens but of all are the letters extras sources.. Extracted of Windows ORIGINAL view:

Calibri (True Type)
Cambria (True Type)
Candara (True Type)
Corbel (True Type)
Segoe UI (True Type)
Segoe UI Bold (True Type)

This fonts ORIGINALS size 3 megas ok?

But although I removed the sources the skin about in 13 megas AND does not be worthwhile.

Total Size of 5 animations:
9,91 MB (10.392.064 bytes)

And.. all restant sizes is a IMAGES .bmp & .tga

I can´t reduce more

Sounds to me like u need to slim down that 9mbs of animations my friend.

perhaps try removing and merging some frames.. obviously this is the majority of the overall filesize. most avi's dont take up 9 mbs of space, i dont think ive ever seen a 15 mb single substyle wb..

anyway, hope this helps, good luck with it.

. PleaseWait.BackgroundPerPixelImage.tga
. Screen.BackgroundPerPixelImage.bmp

Ok? Now size is 11,8 MB ..i reduced 4MB

The animations of style vista are 1,4 MB but..
My Animation of Empty recicle[/B] is Especial From Vista style Aurora Exception is a Size: 4,4MB .. if if is a Excessive but...is a Point of Originality

because [B]Empty recycle is diferent animation.
