Basicaly, you play games through the metaverse button just as you would normal ones, then at the end you get an option to submit your score to the metaverse. In this respect, it is basically an uber-high score board. As you play more games and submit the scores, your overall score grows and by that you compete with others. You then gain medals by winning certain amounts of games, or by doing so in certain conditions (Ex: If you play and submit a win with every race, you then get a Racial Victory medal)

There is no actual multiplayer involved.

Empires basically let you combine your overall score with others, and compete as groups against other groups. Most of the top empires also have their own websites for chatting and exchanging strategies, etc.

The thing to remember when playing is to play for fun, either using the MV as a score card for your own games, or joining an empire and working with others to push the empire score. In both cases, play for fun and don't worry about where you fall. The real fun is getting to know other people, e.g., at the Galactic Core which is empire neutral. They also host a private place for the Diplomats. Great group of people hang out there.

Awesome ty for the insights.

P.S. I always play for fun. Unlike alot of other people that play games just to complain with each other. I hope this is a more friendly enviroment. Well like i said ty and also if u could give me a few website/forum url's that may up my gameing experience for this game. ty

Does your metaverse still end up going negative after you submit so many games? I haven't read this board for awhile and I notice my score had started going up again so I was wondering if they had fixed the scoring system.

Always was lame seeing your score go down everytime you won a game.

Yeah they ran a fix on the scoring system.

Scores become worth less as they age (down to 65%, losing 5% a month) and your total score is adjusted according to the number of games you have played. I think its total adjusted points divided by the number of games squared by.4

I.E. adjusted score/(total number of games ^.4)

I'm doing the formula from memory, so I might be off a bit.

Ghost ship,

the legend will help a bit.

If there is one in particular you want to know about, search the forums or post if you can't find anything. It's likely someone will have figured it out.
