The contest launches...
And so it begins...
Submissions have started...
Over the next few weeks, graphics designers from around the world will begin submitting their creations to the GUI Championships. If it works anything like the last two times, it will begin with a trickle and end with a down pour.
With the sponsors donating over $12,000 in cash and prizes, the prestige of doing well in the various events is coupled with prizes like Xbox 360s, cash, software, and some surprises to be announced soon.
A couple of people have asked where this site normally is -- www.guichamps.com. The answer is, it doesn't. This site only exists during the contest and then disappears for years at a time until the next one.
Some quick tips:
- To create wallpapers, programs like Adobe Photoshop are probably your best bet.
- To create GUI skins that are applied via WindowBlinds, get SkinStudio and read the various tutorials.
- To create icons that are packaged with IconPackager, there's programs including MicroAngelo Toolset or IconDeveloper as well as others.
Judging begins in a few weeks and continues through October. Submissions may be entered in right up until judging begins on the particular event.
