ZoneAlarm finds Cursor XP suspicious

Whenever Cursor XP loads at start-up, Zone Alarm greets me with: CursorXP is attempting to monitor user activities on this computer. If allowed it may try to track or log keystrokes (user input), mouse movements/clicks, web sites visited, and other user behaviors.

Is this one of many Zone Alarm false alarms?

CursorXP has to monitor user input to work.  Why they include keystrokes & websites in the list I do not know.  The message seems to have been worded to scare users.

So yes, Zone Alarm is right that it monitors the mouse, but wrong about the rest.

That's pretty much the generic message ZA pos up, Neil.

Same message is seen many times when ZA is set to monitor everything and pop up an alert.

Not just Stardock apps.

I have used cursorXp for years - I believe it to be quite safe. Firewalls and ad-ware removal programs tend to give the same messages for a variety of things - its just to warn you to recheck things.

ZA Control Panel/ Program Control/ Programs/. Scroll down to CursorXP entry, left click Trust Level, click Super. On prompt, click OK.

ZoneAlarm finds everything suspicious, including Windows components.

Don't be a ZA hater. I've used ZA for about five years now and never had windows components register as something suspicious... not sure where you got your info, but I'm guessing that's just personal opinion.

For the user, just go into Program Control and set the trust level to Super.
