Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling, an avid MMORPG player and NPC in Everquest II has formed a new Boston-based development house with Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and sci-fi/fantasy author R.A. Salvatore. The new team has prior experience in the game sector since McFarlane worked on Soul Calibur II with Namco and Salvatore penned the story for Atari's Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone. Schilling even has his hand in ownership of a small paper-gaming company Multi-Man Publishing.
Green Monster Games, possibly named after the large left field wall in Boston's Fenway Park, has yet to launch an official website and has been spreading their name through a horde of job advertisings seeking high-end programming personnel. The firm has stated that McFarlane will be aiding Green Monster Games as lead artist and Salvatore will act as creative director in hopes of creating "industry-changing games."
