What about your boot screen?

Have Windows XP or Windows 2000? Want to change that boot screen? BootSkn is a free program that does just that -- and does it safely. And BootSkin 1.02 has just been released and now has the ability to randomly select a different boot screen if you want when you start your computer. Homepage: www.bootskin.com

Typo: BootSkin not BootSkn

The Bootskin webpage says: "There is no risk of having your system unable to boot due to a corrupted file or after applying a service pack."

Well, that's not enirely true. I made a bootskin which worked fine in the bootskin preview window, but I think I made the progress bar BMP too big (I couldn't find any info about the allowable dimensions anywhere). Anyway, I resetted the computer, and Windows XP came up with an error and wouldn't load up at all.

It was no big deal of course - I just resetted again and loaded WinXP up with my previous settings. But now it won't use any bootskins that I apply, it always reverts to the default windows one.

Oh well, I'll try and figure it out after the GUI Olympics. That'll teach me for getting distracted from making my Olympics skins :D

I'm sure it's a good program, but maybe it needs to be made more idiot-proof ;)

Just wanted to say that I uninstalled and re-installed, and the program works fine. Though it still causes a fatal error if you use a position bar BMP that is larger than the allowable one. You should really mention the allowable dimensions of the position bar BMP in the 'how to make a bootskin' documentation! :)
