Futuristic City Builder

I think Stardock should consider making a City Building Game that is set in the future, instead of highways you called have hyper highways that can speed up the base speeds of the hover cars (kind of like an artificual jet stream that can run anywhere in the city). Instead of subway's you called have the tube like thing from futurama.

You called have contracts with the military of the planet to design and build ships for the empire! (using something similar to the Ship creator in Gal Civ 2)

Have landmarks that ain't been built yet (The Space Elevator, The Universes tallest Building etc.) I think it walled be real cool especially if it was made similar to Sim City 4 (in that it can be changed in dramatic ways just check out the simtropolis community and what they have accomplished)

You called have to build massive powerfull weapons (like an ion cannon) to defend the city against a planetery Invasion.

It would also be cool if you called desighn buildings real easy! (a real simple architectural tool)

And of course with the originality, creativity and the overall spark stardock could give it would put the icing on the cake!

Non-futuristic or even medieval settings can be easier to identify with because you know what everything does. Spears, bows, horsemen with swords, it's all kinda obvious what everything does. Same goes with farm plots, cottages, granaries, mills.

I'm often bored by futuristic games because I don't feel an intuitive understanding of what everything does; then again I enjoyed the heck out of Dawn of War (I would not recommend it though), but that's a gritty setting where factories and tanks and soldiers with big guns are still running around. It's intuitively understandable.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Lucasarts craps out of a StarWars SimCity game Venuism. Like every game they make that doesn't involve lego figurines it will be badly bugged and contain several crucial flaws, but will provide a very strong StarWars flavor anyway.

that's a nice idea but it's not possible...

some people play on gigantic maps (like me for example) with a least 300 planets, imagine yourself taking care of the "beauty" of 300 planets? that's just crazy, just to think about it... I do like the idea of the Hugh city that the Jedi temple is coming out of it (only because Star Wars fans will buy anything that have a stick on it that says "Star Wars"..lol..)

but I won't go with this...

Why link to a forum post which links to spore rather than simply linking to spore in the first place?

I like the idea personally. It would put a new spin on city builders. We have them set in the past and present, but the future setting hasn't seen as much love.
