Joe The Jew Lieberman Pt. II

I'll just start a new thread since Moderateman can't handle heated debate on his thread.
Thanks for the kind words Larry.
I definitely see your point. I have no problem with stating that the views of a few nutjobs don't represent the view of the majority of Democrats. I just think it's silly for anyone to really think that that majority of any group, on either side of the aisle in this country, are bigots or anti-semitic. I find it silly that someone thinks it's necessary. There are nuts on both ends of the spectrum.
I've resisted the urge to make a post comparing Democrats not supporting Lieberman, to Republicans and/or jews not supporting Schlesinger in CT. I could make a silly argument demanding to know why Jewish people aren't supporting him. Is it because jews hate anglos? No, that's not the reason. They don't support him because he's a joke and I suspect because they don't feel he represents their best interest. Of course there may be a few that do hate anglos, but I think that's probably the exception rather than the rule.
| I do hope that you reconsider your blacklist of Davad70, he is bright and reasonable. I have debated with him many times, both in agreement and disagreement. But let me respond to his question, as a Jew and a lifelong Democrat. "Why should I, or any other Democrat, apologize for there being some whackos on our side?" I'm not looking for an apology, what I am looking for is a statement that the anti-Semetic views were not the views of the majority of members nor the leadership of the Democratic party. I don't think that is unreasonable. |

And with fellas like Tom DeLay about, it seems that the "nutjob" prize is fair game for either party.
