I'll just start a new thread since Moderateman can't handle heated debate on his thread.

I do hope that you reconsider your blacklist of Davad70, he is bright and reasonable. I have debated with him many times, both in agreement and disagreement. But let me respond to his question, as a Jew and a lifelong Democrat.

"Why should I, or any other Democrat, apologize for there being some whackos on our side?" I'm not looking for an apology, what I am looking for is a statement that the anti-Semetic views were not the views of the majority of members nor the leadership of the Democratic party.

I don't think that is unreasonable.

I definitely see your point. I have no problem with stating that the views of a few nutjobs don't represent the view of the majority of Democrats. I just think it's silly for anyone to really think that that majority of any group, on either side of the aisle in this country, are bigots or anti-semitic. I find it silly that someone thinks it's necessary. There are nuts on both ends of the spectrum.

I've resisted the urge to make a post comparing Democrats not supporting Lieberman, to Republicans and/or jews not supporting Schlesinger in CT. I could make a silly argument demanding to know why Jewish people aren't supporting him. Is it because jews hate anglos? No, that's not the reason. They don't support him because he's a joke and I suspect because they don't feel he represents their best interest. Of course there may be a few that do hate anglos, but I think that's probably the exception rather than the rule.

Nice soliloquy. However, you are still dancing around the central issue. Quite simply, the nut jobs on the right are not taking credit for controlling the party, as the nut jobs on the left are. You have some explaining to do.

One: Moveon claims credit for defeating Lieberman.
Two: Moveon claims credit for anti-semitism. Big time (shall I link?)
Three: you have not disavowed them. No one is asking you to appologize (at least not most), but some are asking you to disavow them. You have not.
Fourth: Given that you have not disavowed them, we can only assume you like the company you keep.
Fifth: That is not a company that most choose to keep, including most conservatives. However due to the lack of disavowel on the left, we can only conclude the same is not true of most liberals.

You are known by the company you keep. And frankly, I chose not to keep company with the ilk that is on your side of the divide. I have already PUBLICY disavowed the few (fewer than the liberal side apparently) scum on the right. You have danced and dodged and bobbed and weaved and basically sided with the maxim "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". And in that, since I have given you numerous occassions to repudiate them, and you have declined, I can only think that you will not, not that you cannot.

And in that, I must disagree with Larry. For in that, you have proven to be less than honest, or moral in your feigned outrage.

And so I must agree with Moderatman.

O, and delete this if you will like your paramour. I have it copied. It will find the light of day, and expose your hypocrisy.

I am not dancing around the issue at all. With your twisted logic, you may see the issue differently than me, but I'm not avoiding it at all.

I have never claimed any allegiance to moveon.org, nor have I ever referenced them. I haven't even been to their website since the 04 election. I have never rejoiced in the defeat of Joe Lieberman.

I have obviously have no control over what claims moveon makes.

How exactly am I keeping company with them?

Do you consider yourself to be keeping company with every conservative organization, just because you are a conservative?

I have shown no outrage, feigned or otherwise. I just wanted to continue the conversation, but was unable to do so due to Modman blacklisting me.

If someone on the right was to use the term NIGGER RICE TO TRASH CONDI, i WOULD DISTANCE myself so fast from them it would set my computer screen of fire. Davad seems just fine with Jew baiting he twisted, turned and danced like a chicken on hot coals but never would even say "that was ugly" what they said about Lieberman, I do not want someone like him in my blog. Then to top it off, he tries to turn tables on me. That was enough.


What exactly was ugly Modman? I asked you for specifics of the claims that you made about anti-semitic "ads" and you offered up no links, or even any specific things they said, or who wrote it.

So what specifically was I supposed to say "was ugly"?

Well, I didn't read your previous entry, davad, but while I strongly disagree with your viewpoint about 99% of the time, I have found you to be one of the more intelligent and tolerable bloggers from the far left. And I enjoy the debate, even though I may have days of being less than tolerant. While we disagree, we can at least appreciate the fact that we (so far, at least) have the right to do so.
