MultiSrv32.exe Not loaded

Recently my Multiplicity quit working.  I have read several threads and done a thorough search and I haven't found an answer yet.  I have assured that I have the lates tversion and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the product on each machine three times.  I have tested without my firewalls (although they were working fine before this started).  I have checked and multisrv32.exe is not loaded on either machine but the icon is in the tray on both machines.

What do I need to do?

Thanks,
Mason

I would check the path for Stardock Multiplicity under services.  It sounds like it is wrong (or that file is corrupt)

I had this too, but it was on a test machine so figured it was just me. I fixed it by doing the following:

Click Start, Run, run "services.msc" (without quotes)
Find "Stardock Multiplicity" in the list and double-click the entry
Change "Startup type" from Automatic to Manual, click Apply
Change "Startup type" back to Automatic, click OK
Reboot

It then came up after reboot from then on. It just seemed to need to be reset for some reason.

Thanks guys. That gave me enough info to get my primary machine back up. I had to go into the registry because I couldn't figure out how to edit or delete the service. Somewhere along the way the install path had changed but it all seems to be ok on that machine.

On the secondary machine the I get an error:

Error 193: Oxc1

when I try to start the service manually.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Any ideas what to do next?

Thanks,
Mason

I to have recently been subject to the same symptons. It has taken a while to figure out a way to get Multiplicity to work again. I uninstalled Multiplicity and reinstalled several times and could not get it to function. The problem appears to be that the multiplicity service is left in place when being uninstalled. The service cannot find MULTI~1.exe even if there is a fresh reinstalled copy in place. I found that I had to go into the registery using regedit and remove the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\MULTIPLICITY. After rebooting the machine I then reinstalled multiplicity and it is working again. All the connected machines needed this done in order to work.Backup the registery before attempting any form of editing.
