Game Crashes

I know...I know...the game is in first beta. But I have WinXP and I'm not trying to play multiplayer, so I should at least be able to see the map! The game crashes right after campaign setup for me.

Just tried again and it appears it only crashes if I try to be a Republican. Works just fine for being a Democrat.

I hope I will be able to play as a Republican soon...it really makes me sick to be John Kerry.

When you played as a Rep, did you change your opponent to be a Dem? We need to put in a check to prevent games where only one party is represented, so that may have caused the crash.

Otherwise, It'll take a bit more bug hunting.

Actually, I only get the crash when I try to set up a George W. Bush/Forbes vs. Kerry/Al Gore scenario. Also just had a really nasty crash after I tried to get an endorsement! Oh, well....at least I did finally manage to get a Forbes/Bush Sr. vs. Kerry/Clinton game going. I'm a little bit happier that I'm at least a Republican!

So far, it's really a great concept! I'm really looking forward to future betas!

Oh, bother...CTD when I tried W. Bush/Forbes vs. Kerry/Jackson. Not only did I not get a SmartException report, but my desktop wallpaper disappeared! Not sure what could be causing this CTD... Going to try again.

I have found a crash on a speech I tried to make. I think it was gay marriage in California. Needless to say I am a Democrat.

Also, is it intentional that we cannot at this point design our own characters, or is that a bug?

You can design your own characters. Just edit the default and create a new one. You can pick their stats, what they look like, etc.

I'm having CTDs every time I try to start a game. I haven't yet been able to play this build yet. I keep hoping the next build will work better...

Brad, sorry for not replying to this earlier...I was busy in RL and then I found the new beta available!

I've got Smart Exception installed, but I don't get a report when PM crashes. It just CTDs and that's it.

This build is a little bit better, but still not working on my machine. I can now get past the game setup screen (I couldn't even do that before!) but the first turn of the game I see a flash in the background of an error message. It just flashes and I don't get to see it, but the game freezes and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out. I wish I could see what that error message says when it flashes. I also wish I could get a report from Smart Exception for you.

Well, the crash comes even later than it did in the previous build but it still comes. Smartexception won't send the error report.

Woohoo!! The new build lets me play the game a bit! I locked up at week 8 but until then, everything was going beautifully!

No report from Smartexeception, I couldn't do anything but push the "Reset" button on the PC. I'll try again, but boy, the game was great until it locked up!

Well, curiosity killed the cat, and apparently so do question marks. I just couldn't resist going after a green question mark and guess what? I had a little ole crash. Please tell me where to send these Smartexception reports to if posting them here isn't okay. When I click on "submit exception report", Smartexception doesn't do anything.
